12/12/2007 11:15:38 PM

12/12/2007 11:16:24 PM
for me it's not removing all my neck hairsdoes it take a while to learn or something
12/12/2007 11:31:19 PM
is this thread about shaving balls?
12/12/2007 11:32:28 PM
you have to use them every day for about 2-3 weeks just to get everything good to go and then you should really use them everyday even if you dont need to shave that often
12/12/2007 11:33:36 PM
you have to use it for a month for your skin to get used to it.if it's a dry electric razor like the braun or remington's, i'd use the lectric shave liquid or the dry preshave stick from remington.makes more of the hair stand straight up.

fuck electric razorsit's like trying to erase the hair, you just go over it over and over, and it never quite disappears
12/12/2007 11:49:58 PM
so they really just don't work?
12/13/2007 12:52:54 AM
ive found that people complaining about electric razors usually buy the cheapo crappy kind. a good electric razor is going to run you 200 +
12/13/2007 12:55:11 AM
The neck area is a problem area.It seems my 'Barbar The Turk' genes have created a colony of super follicles that stand tall in open revolt against my Braun 360.It's time for more precision tools:
12/13/2007 12:55:53 AM
lol
12/13/2007 1:01:09 AM
exactly. quit being a pussy and get a straight razor, or at least an old school safety razor. Use a brush and shaving soap and shave for real.If you are going to use an electric razor, you may as well use an epilady.
12/13/2007 1:02:01 AM
Electric razors are fine to trim during the week. However, when you want to go out on weekends I highly recommend a real blade or safety razor with real shaving cream and badger hair brush.I'm actually buying a new set this paycheck.

12/13/2007 1:11:39 AM
they are good if your beard gets ingrown from a regular razor

I have a Norelco(sp?) from about 6 years ago that I love. I get random ones on Xmas every other year and none of them can compare... the thing is just amazing. Seriously, I usually don't get this excited over hygiene products.

I've had a couple of nice(r) electric razors and haven't liked one yet. You've got to work it around 30 different angles to get the hairs cut off. My dad's Braun 360 works pretty well, but they're freaking expensive (however shaving while driving can't be beat in a pinch). I would like to try one of these however, it looks promising for the whole adams apple/non flat region on the neck.http://www.arcitec.philips.com/us/en/?origin=SEA

I tried an electric razor back when I was in high school for a few years, it never got my skin as smooth as a regular razor. I've been using a Mach3 Turbo since like 2002 though and it has never let me down.
12/13/2007 9:27:03 AM
mine costs 60 and it works just like it should. i would not put less than 60 in one.
12/13/2007 9:28:29 AM
Mine shaves my face perfect but doesn't shave my neck for shit
12/13/2007 9:33:21 AM
I grow a real fast/hard stubble and it's been a pain my whole life since early 7th grade to shave.until I met You:This has literally been the easiest shave of my life. The $20 I pay for the razor/battery/10 extra blades every 6 months has been the best investment of my life.
12/13/2007 9:41:58 AM
I got a freebie fusion and I love it, what is the major advantage of the power? Also I have to use an electric around my adams apple cause of it and a mole
12/13/2007 10:04:53 AM
ftw
12/13/2007 10:06:10 AM
where can i get a flat blade or safety razors? they don't have to be top of the line but a quality one. This sounds like a good item to ask for for xmas. i dont grow the thickest beards, yet, but i've always been fascinated with those types of shaves
12/13/2007 10:14:29 AM
http://www.classicshaving.com/Home.htmlA straight razor takes a long time to learn how to use and sharpen. I also have a Dovo "shavette" which is a straight razor with a replaceable blade. That is the way to go.
12/13/2007 11:19:50 AM
i hate electric razors - my dad bought me one instead of teaching me to shave silvertip badger brush and weighted razor ftw: http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=92140&group=12straight razor is prolly the way to go as well, but i haven't tried them yet: http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=68021&group=10their shaving cream is good: http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=30000&group=2but i don't like their aftershave balm... i'd recommend Clarins moisture gel: http://www.clarins-men.co.uk/products/moisturegel.php
12/13/2007 11:29:12 AM
495 bucks for the first item you listed? that is insane
12/13/2007 11:32:13 AM
the hair around my neck grows in like a sort of swirl, and i've yet to meet an electric razor that could hack it without significant effort. mach 3 ftw!
12/13/2007 11:33:02 AM
do any of you shave with a safety razor? i kind of want to try that first.
12/13/2007 11:43:24 AM
I'd imagine that if you've never shaved with a straight razor, you'd end up butchering your face the first few times. Hahaha.
12/13/2007 12:04:58 PM
^^^^ they start at about $250: http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=92192&group=12Or if you don't need the stand, you could just get a brush and a razor to start with:http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=62009&group=8http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=51064&group=7($150)
