I am sorry but I never liked Herb. He was boring as shit to watch and watching him lose was like slowing ripping my fingernails off. At least when Lowe loses, it isnt from being up by 15 or 20 points to have a 5-9 minute meltdown of no scoring.

It's all about the hype. Our fans expected this year's team to be NCSU's third coming from the preseason buildup. After our tourney run last season and the talent we've pulled in, this team was waaaaaaaaay overhyped and expected to be practically Godlike. Now I'm not saying we can't match what that hype is, but I think we've fallen far enough to be the underdogs that we seem to do best as. I still think there is some shit going on with the team that we don't know about because honestly these are all the same kids as last year except with more talented and impressive players joining them.....

when i started college in 2000 there was just as much talk about how we'd never get anywhere with herb sendek as there was the year he left. every year it was the same, "fire herb" "we'll never beat duke/unc/etc. with him". now i am not defending a loss to ecu or the horrible performance against msu, but i have to call into question why the hell people are asking for sidney lowe's job in december of his second season.

nc state fans, especially students are some of the rudest, critical, rollercoaster, and bandwagon fans i've ever seen. its easy to cheer for your team when you pull off an unexpectedly good season, but if you can't stick with them through a rough start with relatively new team, then give away your nc state attire and shut the fuck up.

I never thought heart was a problem... the offense was at times but if we had a Damon Thornton, a Julius Hodge, a Kenny Inge or an Anthony Grundy I'm sure we wouldn't be seeing this kind of play... We have too many Indians and not enough Chiefs right now..

I'm most disappointed in the offense. I thought the coach calling out the play every time down the court was gimmicky last year and it completely kills ANY flow we have. It's almost worse than watching the weave and heave to me... not to mention we are last in the ACC in offense in most categories right now...

Seriously, heart was NOT a problem ON the court. The gripe was that Herb himself didn't go crazy on the sidelines like Bobby Knight does for the most part.

Did you guys see Damon Thornton, Kenny Inge, Ron Kelley, Justin Gainey, Anthony Grundy, J-Hodge and the likes play? Those guys left it all out on the floor every game...

bill walton was Bill Simmons' show last week and he mentioned how coach wooden said you should NEVER look at the sidelines when you are on the court. by the time you get to the court, you should be prepared

yea, i'm thrilled that he helped win a championship for us when i was 2 and he will always have a place at my dinner table for that, but it in no way means he gets a free pass as head coach. he might get a tiny little bit of extra leeway for playing here compared to a non-alum, but a coaches job is to win games. that 83 championship ring aint winnin games for us
