The pretty ones always return.

They use us and abuse us, and we still come back for more.

This broad isn't very smart. Just look around your hood in the evenings and see when folks set their garbage/recycling out.

#2-it's kind of cold outside and a lot of them aren't home...i mean i guess i could go and ask tomorrow but what if it comes tomorow??

you would think there is some sort of online schedule/ address search tool to figure this out.

and ryan-flavor of love marathon is on

^^i thought of that last week....however i think these people put it out at 2 am and pick it back up 7am b/c i swear to god i never saw it...

How big is your neighborhood? Surely, one of them will be putting their garbage out before 9pm the night before?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
August 8, 2005

When will the curbside collection start in my neighborhood?
The Town should start delivering carts in mid-October. It will take eight weeks for all the carts to be delivered. Carts will be delivered to homes on their normal garbage collection day. Citizens will begin using their cart the following week. The Town’s Web site will be updated daily on cart distribution progress.

What will I do with my current garbage can?
Current garbage cans can be utilized for weekly yard waste collection. Unwanted garbage cans can be placed at the curbside on collection day with a sign requesting removal. Unwanted garbage cans can also be disposed of at the Dixon Avenue Convenience Center

What if the 95 gallon cart is too big for my family?
All residents in the program will initially receive a 95 gallon cart. If you determine that a smaller cart is more appropriate for their needs, the Town can provide a 65 gallon alternative. The Town will change out the original cart at no charge through a special request program (469-4090). Additional change outs will cost $10 each. Voluntarily choosing a smaller cart will not result in a reduction of the monthly solid waste fee.

What if the 95 gallon cart is too small for my family?
All residents in the program will initially receive a 95 gallon cart. If you determine that one 95 gallon cart does not meet their needs, the Town will deliver an additional cart (65 or 95 gallon) through a special request program (469-4090). Residents requiring an additional cart will be charged $3.50/month added to their utility bills.

What should I do if I can’t fit all of my household garbage into my solid waste cart and I choose not to have a second cart?
Starting in the spring of 2006, all waste must be placed in the cart to ensure collection. Overflow waste will be collected through a special request by calling PW Customer Service (469-4090). Cost of this collection is $10 per pickup.

While I can consistently able to fit my garbage into my cart, I’m concerned about excess waste during the holidays. What should I do?
During the week following Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Town of Cary will not collect yard waste. During these weeks the Town will collect all excess waste at the curb, providing it does not fall under the definition of “bulky” waste.

What should I do if I want my properly prepared yard waste collected prior to my normal collection day?
Cary citizens may dispose of yard waste at the Town’s Convenience Center located on North Dixon Avenue. Or, you may call us at 469-4090 to request a special pickup. The cost of this special collection is $35 for first 10 minutes and $12 per additional 10 minute periods of the collection process.

Where must the cart be stored during the week?
Carts must be stored behind the building line of the side of the structure facing the principal street. If a cart is stored in front of the building line, it must be stored in an enclosed structure so that the cart cannot be seen from the street.

When do I place the cart at the curb for collection?
Carts may be placed at the curbside no earlier than dusk prior to the collection day and must be returned to the storage location no later than 6 a.m. the day following your collection day.

What happens if my neighbors leave their carts at the curb beyond 6 a.m. the day following collection?
Report violations to 469-4090. For the first notice, staff will place an informational hanger on the cart and move it back to its proper location. Additional notices within 12 months of the last infraction will result in staff placing a notice of violation on the cart and rolling it to the proper location. A $10 “roll-in” fee will be added to their utility bill.

What if I am physically unable to roll the cart to and from the curb?
If your doctor feels that you are physically unable to negotiate the new solid waste cart, you may ask the Town for a special service exemption. A Curbside Collection Assistance Request form will be required to request an exemption. Your doctor must confirm the need on the form in writing. The form is available either through the Town of Cary website or by calling 469-4090. The Town may periodically request that your doctor confirm continuing need.

Where do I place my cart, recycling bin, and yard waste container if I have limited street frontage, such as on a cul-de-sac?
Place cart and recycling bin on curb, not in street. Place yard waste behind roll out cart and recycling bin.

What happens if a car parks too close to my cart and the new truck cannot get to my cart?
If a cart is obstructed and cannot be collected at households receiving automated collection, residents should call customer service at 469-4090 and request special missed collection pickup. There is no additional cost for this service.

What happens if I forget to place my cart at the curb on collection day?
Call Customer Service at 469-4090 and request a special missed collection pickup at no additional cost.

What services will be provided to a resident in a multifamily dwelling with three or more units to the building?
Multi-family structures of three or more units currently being served will continue to have backyard service with their own garbage cans. Multi-family developments submitted after July 1, 2005, will be required to provide amenities to facilitate curbside collection.

How does the new program affect business customers?
Each business will receive one 95 gallon cart to be collected at the curb. Business customers will be allowed a maximum of two 95 gallon carts. Business customers exceeding this volume must arrange for service through a private commercial collector, and will not pay a solid waste fee to the Town.

What should I do with my cart when I move?
The rollout cart is the property of the Town of Cary and should be left at the property when moving.

What should I do if my cart breaks or becomes unserviceable?
The carts being purchased are very durable and have been used successfully throughout the country. However, if a problem arises, the Town will fix/replace all defective carts at no cost to home owner. Carts damaged through abuse will be replaced by the Town and resident charged the cost of the new cart on their utility bill.
