should be a good one. anyone have a link to watch online? no nfl network on time warner
11/29/2007 3:02:20 PM
Hopefully theres a site where you can watch the full broadcast online, though Ill probly end up at a bar. FWIW, nfl.com is having 'live look ins' where they show full possessions live during the game.On another note, I've read that since the NFL network also has the Pats/Giants game at the end of they year, they may auction it off to the highest bidding other network since everyone will want to see the Pats try for 16-0.
11/29/2007 3:08:35 PM
doubt it. they'll probably try to use that one to manipulate fans into complaining to their cable companies just like they're doing now.
11/29/2007 3:30:28 PM
bastards. them and espn both
11/29/2007 3:34:12 PM
go Packers, just because the Cowboys are the UNC Tarheel equivalent of the NFL
11/29/2007 3:35:49 PM
looks like http://www.channelsurfing.net has a link up right now. no telling how long it will last once game time actually rolls around. i guess keep checking on there for any updated links once the current ones go down (if they do).right now they are streaming nfl network from the game link you see when you scroll down.and yeah i'm pulling for the packers as well. i like favre, and i think it's awesome how well he's playing after it seemed like he was sure to fade away into retirement. if the steelers can't win the super bowl this year, i'd love to see the packers do it (assuming p-riv and the chargers also fall short).[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 3:37 PM. I'm pulling for Dallas since I took them giving 6.5, otherwise I'd definitely pull for the PackSo if it goes to OT I'm defefinitely fucked, so I'll pull for GB at that point
11/29/2007 3:53:06 PM
you might want to hedge something...i think dallas will win a close one since they are at home, but they have a suspect 2ndary and favre is playing great...i think its a field goal game either way
11/29/2007 4:00:21 PM
go to the fucking bar
11/29/2007 4:07:25 PM
If Beardawg doesn't lock this thread I'm gonna be pissed.
11/29/2007 4:25:05 PM
^Why? It is a big game for both teams. It will probably determine who loses to NE in the SB.
11/29/2007 4:28:25 PM
to paraphrase Nadasurf "He's a quarterback..he's pop-pew-LER"Notice how you didn't see everyone become Texans fans when Mario got draftedYou can root for a player and not the team, except with a quarterback, since they're the only ones mainly judged for wins and lossesYou never see the stat "Brian Westbrook's record as a starter is 31-18, its always McNabb.

What would be the NBA equivalent of those teams? Its less clearcut IMO. I'd say Lakers or Celtics, but not to the level of the examples from other sports.[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 4:50 PM. Reason : Bulls were definitely that team for a while, but not so much now.]
11/29/2007 4:49:26 PM
probably the Lakersbut i agree its less clearcut nowadays...and for some reason, Spurs fans dont really annoy me...its like theyre all polite and rational and shit
11/29/2007 4:51:50 PM
Yeah but how many Spurs fans do you see in North Carolina?I've met maybe 2 or 3.They're like the least popular good team since the Stockton/Malone Jazz.
11/29/2007 4:55:37 PM
probably...theres something to be said about that...if your team isnt winning, at least the team that is winning doesnt rub it in your face like some punkass tarholeanyway go Packers]
11/29/2007 5:00:03 PM
why would this get locked? it's a discussion thread for the game...didn't see any others when i made it so... anyway, doesn't look like the link i posted is working anymore. it workin for anyone else?

11/29/2007 6:01:11 PM
Brett Favre will win
11/29/2007 6:08:13 PM
cocky packers fans are ~

my meaningless predictions:the cowboys linebackers and secondary are probably the best the packers have seen all year, they'll bottle grant up and force a lot of four and five receiver setsbut if favre plays like favre we can still score in bunches tony homo and TO are playing lights out right now though -- the win comes down to our defense making stops moreso than our offense putting up a ton of pointsshould be a hell of a game, as long as the wheels don't come off i won't be disappointedcowboys 31, packers 27
11/29/2007 6:31:32 PM
i dont think the cowboys have a very good secondaryi think that might be their biggest weakness, at least on defense]
11/29/2007 6:33:07 PM
i don't think they're that great eitherbut the packers have played against some pretty terrible pass defenses this year, the cowboys secondary and linebackers are probably better than all of them at stopping the passthat's what i was trying to say--pass defenses:9 chiefs10 denver11 giants13 redskins21 cowboys22 eagles23 chargers25 bears31 lions32 vikingsso i was sorta right, i guess[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 6:43 PM. i just remember Eli Manning throwing all over them early in the year, but the Giants have been pretty up and down from week to weekits kind of amazing that the Pats and Packers are a combined 21-1 and neither of them has relied much on running the ball all season...Sammy Morris had a couple nice games for the Pats and Ryan Grant and Deshawn Wynn have each had a nice game or two, but Favre and Brady have truly led those offenses, probably more than any other teams this year
11/29/2007 6:43:00 PM
well, for both teams it's been great play from the quarterbacks, superb blocking, and defenses that don't give up a lot of pointssame old story for the pats, but a total turnaround for the pack
11/29/2007 6:46:01 PM
still though iirc last year Corey Dillon had about 12 rushing touchdowns...I doubt the entire Patriots team has 12 rushing touchdowns this yearand i dont need to explain how green bay's running game has been....serviceable, at bestthe cowboys at least have a beast in MB3 in the backfield...i'm still wondering 2 years later why he doesnt start ahead of Julius Jones[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 6:52 PM. woodson , kgb outwell, maybe next time!
11/29/2007 7:01:39 PM
true, but i think before dillon arrived there weren't a lot of touchdowns being scored on the groundhe was a bit of an exception to the norm
11/29/2007 7:02:16 PM

ATTN: Cowboys and PackersYou are the 2 best teams in the NFC. In fact you are the only good teams in the NFC. Please to not pull a Steelers vs. Jets and make the conference look bad a la NC State last night. At least the ACC won that challenge. The NFC isn't winning the Superbowl.
11/29/2007 7:26:49 PM
im dissappointed that no one here has found a way to watch this game, c'mon people
11/29/2007 7:41:30 PM

11/29/2007 7:50:57 PM

11/29/2007 8:04:31 PM

11/29/2007 8:05:12 PM
haha, true, i think the population of those who don't get the game are really fortunate now that you said that
11/29/2007 8:08:20 PM
Welcome to North Carolina.....the most important game of the year in the NFC and it isn't on down here......WTF
11/29/2007 8:13:13 PM
honestly though... if you are sports fan you really should have direct tv to begin with...oh shit, the refs got their winter gear on[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 8:15 PM. Reason : d]
