i was looking into getting tomtom one 3rd edition vs. tomtom one Limited editioni've read/hear the LE is better because it has bluetooth and storage expanision, plus something about 48 saveable waypoints or something...it was $119 on bf

The LE is a Best Buy exclusive. The LE is a 2nd edition with the Navteq7 maps. It has the expansion slot. It also has the bluetooth...but check out what the bluetooth does..it may not be what you think. The 3rd edition ....is the 3rd edition without the expansion slot...but it has the ability to ad a traffic antenna if you want it. It also has the Navteq7 maps. The 3rd edition also has the Hammerhead chipset. Not the SiRF but a very good chip...(Think in terms of how AMD used to be against Intel)In fact, from the test that I have read, the Hammerhead is so close in performance, the difference is not even worth mentioning.I have the 3rd edition and this thing is dead on...Also...Tomtom offers lifetime map updates..the others tend to be a little vague about that.

yeah, to be honest i dont think they'll ever purchase the traffic option so, nor use bluetooth on the phone because itll cost money to use the internet

whats the point of bluetooth on those models?what benefit is it to me? i have a treo (bluetooth) so can i do anything special?
11/28/2007 9:50:07 AM
i think to connect to your phone then use it's internet to connect to the internet to get updates or something
11/28/2007 9:58:08 AM
ohwell thats kinda of a waste.
11/28/2007 10:04:55 AM
the 3rd edition comes with a USB cable to get any updates you need, or download anything else, like locations of red light or traffic cameras
11/28/2007 5:27:10 PM
so does the le, it comes with the cable so you can use mapshare

Who the hell buys someone a used gift from tww. What a crock.
11/28/2007 6:09:04 PM

We have a couple in our house, I have a 2 year old Garmin C330 that is only used for long trips. I have the discs but I would probably keep them for my wife's unit... so, what would you offer for a c330 with 2 SD disc's that cover pretty much all the east coast?I checked Garmin and saw the c330 on there from like $175-200... I realize I dont have all the bells and whistles but would hope it would be fair considering it works perfectly and I have most of the east coast on cards.
