Well I only have one more semester here at NCSU before graduation. And I'm realizing it's my last chance to enrich myself through learning. So what's an interesting class I can take in Spring? Preferably something easy, but if it takes some work it's OK. For example, I've taken Fiction Writing and woodshop. those are the type of classes I'm looking for. ]

Woodshop sounds like fun. I wish we had a welding course.

BUS 225 - Personal Finance w/ Bill Sloan or if you already know an average amount of financial info then...BUS 425 - Advanced Personal Finance w/ Bill Sloan
11/27/2007 6:21:49 PM
More info...BUS 225 will teach you about life insurance, retirement planning, basic financial stuff...BUS 425 will teach you about 401k plans, Roth IRAs, how to increase your credit score...
11/27/2007 6:22:43 PM
^ Bingo. Sloan teaches you more about real world stuff then any other class at State. Probably the only guy whose notes deserve to be framed...

I agree. I took BUS 225 over the summer and loved it. Learned alot of helpful info

what was your woodshop course number? i took woodworking for 6 years and couldnt find any courses at state for it

it was TED 110, which is actually titled "Materials Processing" or something like that. it's a combination of wood and metal shop, but mostly wood. I highly recommend it, it's a 4 hour class and very easy to get an A or A+. It's really basic, geared towards people who have never used the machines before (like me). But even though you're experienced you still get to spend the whole class time making stuff. I think you'd enjoy it! good suggestions ... personal finance sounds kinda boring but probably good to know. keep em coming!!! ]

Music Theory 1 (MUS 301?) was fun when I took it my senior year.
11/28/2007 10:49:57 AM
music - good suggestion!!! is there any class where you just go and play an instrument? I play the harmonica, the flute, and I'm starting on the ukulele. also I'd like to learn how to sing less terribly than I do now. Is there a singing class?
11/28/2007 11:01:02 AM
did you get to play any instruments?
11/28/2007 11:01:45 AM
GC420- Visual Thinking.

Honestly, if you haven't taken a personal finance course- do it while you can!As for music - you seem like you would enjoy music theory a lot.

11/29/2007 12:51:52 PM
gaseous diffusion is probably not a good idea
11/29/2007 11:47:08 PM
how is hart for bus 225. one of my stats classes is probably going to get canceled and I need something to fill the void.
11/30/2007 7:13:36 PM
try MEA 200, intro to oceanography, not that hard and its definitely a little different from most classes at NCSU
12/5/2007 1:14:54 PM
technological catastrophes. awesome class, esp online.
12/5/2007 3:53:04 PM
I know many who have poopoo'd on the class but I absolutely loved it and the instructor:STS302 with Kriesburg. She gave some interesting points to our class that really blurred the line between what is living and not (think robots compared to humans)

I might sign up for TED110 if I can squeeze it in my schedule. Does NCSU offer any classes in machining?
12/23/2007 1:19:20 AM
afs241 is a good class...class size is like probably around 10 people
