we're trying to install this on a brand new vaio laptop with a dc 2g processor and 1g of ram. it won't run properly, it crashes every time... i don't have the laptop in front of me right now, so i don't know how powerful the video is, but it plays pretty much all of the other games we have without any lagging or crashing. should we try reinstalling it, or not waste our time?

one way to know if its the cd is to try and burn a copy of it onto a blank cd-r....then if it works you can go ahead and install it, if it doesnt work you should call the customer service or return it to the store and be like the cd didnt work

^ most likely the copy protection schemes would prevent that from working

^^ Does it crash during installation, while playing the game, after installation when you try to run it, etc...?

I'd start by trying to reinstall. The game might not have installed properly. Also, make sure ALL your hardware drivers are up to date.

shit i doubt it

i know i've copied many a cd with nero and had the software work

i just realized this was a game and not a some type of mapping software...either way it might just be a defective cd...only other thing i could think of would be if her system cant handle it but i doubt that

Like stated above, you need to make sure your graphics drivers are up to date ... that will be a prime reason for the crash you're experiencing.

That or a graphics card not powerful enough, but ... you'd THINK they'd program some exception to handle that and let you know what the problem is ... then again, it is EA. Piss poor quality testing before release.
