disabled windows firewall and UAC was wondering if it was possible to get windows to STFU with its "OMG YOU COMPUTER IS VULNERABLE!"

sorry: when you turn off vista's builtin firewall or UAC it puts a red shield in the tray that about every 5 minutes says that vista is unsecure befirewall/UAC is off. is there anyway to disable this? XP has the buttons that said I am taking care of this myself but vista doesnt as far as i can

Open that control panel and click on the "change the way windows alerts me" and change it.
