I remember the hype... I followed his recruitment. I was secretly hoping that Marcus would beat out Jay Davis after the departure of the Royal Member of the NC State Sporting Community. After a few of Davis' air mails into the waiting hands of the opposing defensive backs, the student section starting chanting: Marcus Stone, Marcus Stone, Marcus Stone.I loved the potential his style would bring. With a running qb and TA McLendon, I thought we would have a pretty potent offense...It was bad to see Marcus go out the way he did... the same way David did and the same way Evans will next year... getting beat out for the job.But Marcus' transformation into a very capable TE shows his character. He could've disappeared. But he really turned his career around and became a great team player. With the loss of Anthony Hill this year, I was glad to see Marcus' athletic display and I hope he gets picked up somewhere.I hate to see him and the rest of the seniors go out with a goose egg...

How can you bench 325 but only squat 350? (I realize this was 4 years ago)But yeah, I agree, I was happy to see him at the TE spot helping the team out any way he could.

i give Stone credit. 1st for attitude, 2nd for effort, and another for making some very nice catches and quite a few hits. he did well, especially at a foreign position, and i respect the guy for that.

^Haha I caught that, too. How the hell does a QB on the football team cause the transfer of a PG on the bball team????
