??? I'm just curious. I've been fighting with the thought of this lately. If you know someone who was a single parent and you could see yourself liking them...would you go for it regardless of the kid?

if by dating you mean fucking, then its ok...but like any other kind of involvement other than fucking is a no go imo

Very few people are on TWW are at a stage where dating, and not just fucking, a single mom, is something they can handle.

I doubt any of those would be chit chat regulars, and definitely not in CC the Friday evening after Thanksgiving.

^^well since i dont fuck girls for the hell of it perhaps you're right. However, due to the holidays and my friends being out of town i just figured what the hell, why not take some kind of random (most likely lopsided) poll

Run as far as you can.

Unless, of course, you're a glutton for punishment.

My dad was my age (26) when he started dating my mother (a 34 yo widow), who had a son (14/15). I would think long and hard about dating a single mother because my dad and my older brother were both totally unprepared to handle one another. My dad still partied and my brother would have to pick him up from bars, my dad tried to boss my brother around, they'd end up in fist fights, etc. After my mom and dad married, my older brother moved out and went to live with his uncle. And to this day, my brother had hard feelings towards my mom for choosing a man over him.

Even if you're never serious and you just date, you'll still have to interact with her child. Make sure that you're prepared to deal with the kid. Not every 20-something knows how to deal with children and I know they sure as hell aren't prepared to deal with older kids.

hell no, not unless she is over 30 and the kid is at least 5 or 6

baggage issues, plus i have exes who have cheated on their current SO with me. so i can imagine that a 25 year old girl with reason to meet daddy once a week might have dad over for a blowjob and to pick up the kids

ive done it

never with any success.

unless you're completely comfortable with many situations that WILL come up, it's just akward a lot.

say..... you have plans for a date, and the babysitter bails.

so the kid tags along, and is making a total ass of himself, and hence, you. no one knows it's not your kid who's so horribly behaved...and you'll feel the learing eyes on you as the mother tries to calm the wailing kid, a kid whom you can't do much in the way of disciplining wihtout overstepping your bounds. you feel the eyes of the entire crowd thinking you're a bad parent and a retard for having a kid so young, when it's not even yours.

i say it's not worth it, even if the gettin' is good

First, single mothers don't "date." They have been to the circus, you know what I'm saying? They have been to the puppet show and they have seen the strings.

AND

A real man does not shoplift the "pooty" from a single mom.

my baby's momma can't get keep a boyfriend. i think it sucks because we split custody as close to even as possible.

and obviously she can and will do whatever she wants... but since most guys wouldnt dare have a serious relationship with her, she ends up having a new "boyfriend" type guy every other week or 3. therefore instead of trying to explain it to my daughter, i've just convinced her mom to tell her that the guys she dates should be referred to as an "uncle" until one actually can stand her for longer than a month

at that point we will talk again about what my kid will call these guys, but there's only one DADDY, god damnit the main reason i dont date as much as i'd like is cause i dont want to confuse her with 5 mommies.

im sorry to hear that man. i don't know how i'd deal with that if it were my wife and kid

i dated a couple single moms in the past, only for the pussy, and while i never lied or promised any thing more than that, i can see how they probably hoped for more
