I was talking to my cousin that I haven't seen in years. He's in his first year in college at University of Nevada (reno).

me: So Wesley, what's your major?
him: Jazz composition
me: oh that sounds interesting
him: yeah, I really like playing the piano...

here's the good part now

me: so you having fun on the weekends?
him: Oh yeah, I love weekends. I get to get my "fun" reading in. And sometimes my friends and I throw parties. But they are alcohol and drug free. We make our guests sign waivers saying they will not participate in any substance abuse while at our parties!!!"
me (with a wtf look on my face): Oh really? So what do you do at these parties?
him: Oh we get our dance on, I got a disco ball, and sometimes we have pizza making parties!!!
me: That sounds like a blast, I bet tons of people show up
him: Oh yeah, we get a lot of people sometimes we have as much as 15 people there!!

the rest of the dinner was spent in silence until my brother said

"These are good yams"

Sounds like he belongs in Salt Lake City

I accidentally said "I dunno about yall, but I'm in the mood for a good fuck"

Fortunately, everyone interpreted it the way it really was said: me botching "I dunno about yall, but I'm in the mood for a really good laugh", and yelling my default 'FUCK!' (we'd all just come down from a veritable laughing marathon)

I sat at the couch today with my roommate and his girlfriend. I haven't sat at a family table PERIOD for the last three years.

Two fried turkeys today. We made it halfway through one.

When does the kids table lose it's name?

I mean what happens when we're all over 21, or married? Is it still the kids table?

My mother in law freaks the hell out about everything. I drove 16 hours to come here through fog and rain and they gave us over salted potato flakes a a turkey that must've been baked since yesterday. My brother in law is extremely creepy and his dream job is to work in an old folks home, and yet he's probably the most interesting person to talk to here. If my mother in law has another screaming fit about someone sitting the wrong way on her couch, or moving a cereal box, or not putting their shoes in the right spot, or leaving the bathroom door not just the right amount open upon leaving the bathroom, its going to take all my self control not to slap her. She whined and guilted my wife on the phone for hours to come here and then she acts like we showed up uninvited. And she belches like a trucker who used to be a lumberjack. I'm complaining about this here because obviously if i say it to anyone around here it will just get me more annoyance, and this seemed thanksgiving related, so thats my thanksgiving.
