what is the deal with this? i get to download an iso of windows xp, and everytime i try i get the following error:
11/21/2007 10:06:05 PM
there may be an error in the configuration of the download package. this is usually due to a bad hosting location

if he replies with anything other than a courteous response i'm going to tell him maybe next time he will answer the first time and not have to deal with douches like me

send an email to help@ncsu.edu about it and ask them to route it to the CSC queue.
12/24/2007 8:41:40 AM
MSDNAA is handled on a departmental basisCSC students are the only ones who can download it from the CSC siteif he's in CNR he needs to talk to someone over there

Um folks, most of these people are on vacation. E-mailing and being angry is not going to get low-priority services like this repaired any more quickly. And evan, you know that the Help Desk is closed during the Winter Break. They announced it on SysNews and everything.Josh, I know Josh Gira, and he's fairly on top of things most of the time. Did you e-mail him directly, or to help@ncsu.edu, as was mentioned earlier? If you didn't do the latter, I'd definitely suggest it. Remedy calls tend to get noticed by several folks, so if it needs to get repaired, that will do it faster.

I know. I also know that the IT folks in CNR are few, and that they try pretty hard to get things taken care of for their students. DNL has a right to be frustrated, I'm just trying to help speed things along in a more positive manner. I work for OIT, not CNR, so I can't help directly.
