I know this is a 50/50 Entertainment/Sports Talk thread but I figure most who play it probably post here more often...

For XBox 360..

Anyone have any ideas. I liked 2k7 but from what I've read MM2008 is a step up from previous editions. I am a fan of the college atmosphere/graphics in a bball game over true all out realism... I hate 35-33 scores playing the 7 minute halfs against the CPU.

Who is going which way and why?

havent played the college 2k8, but the nba 2k8 is pretty sweet so I'm guessing the same will be the case for college

March Madness wasn't made for 360 or PS3 last year was it?

Most of the times the first game on the new system has errors.

Ive always liked 2k and it comes out Monday I think whereas Madness isn't till later in December.

If you've ever played both I don't see how you can buy MM. It's totally more arcade-like, which you might not mind, but I simply can't do it.

I like the features they are adding in 2k this year:
6th Man
Create your own plays
Shareable content (including rosters, etc.)
Great classics teams (Like All ACC, All NC State, or the 74, 83 teams, etc.)
Legacy mode including ABL(like AAU ball)
Improved simulations and scoring, etc.

But you sound like the type that likes to take it down the court and posterize people every play, so you prally won't like 2k8.

i've got last year's march madness for 360. after playing a friend's 2k7, MM was prettier, but 2k7 had better gameplay. though with the new additions to both who knows... from what i read they're both getting classic teams.

they're also releasing a MM demo soon (nov 19) on XBL.. in fact it may be the same day 2k8 comes out.

MY OPINION is that 2K basketball games surpassed EA basketball games (Live, MM) a good few years ago...I won't ever buy another EA basketball game...they should stick to football and golf

you can always play demos of each, or rent each one to see

i bought both Live and 2K one year (maybe 06?) and the ONLY thing I liked better about Live was that it had a dunk contest...I thought 2K had better controls, more fluid graphics, and just more enjoyable gameplay...to each his own though

if you have LIVE, 2k8 has free rosters that you can download. I don't have the game but thats what i've heard. Pretty sweet if so.
