could i purchase this laptop from you for say$300 dollars bucks?
11/15/2007 4:39:13 PM
...no. They are going for much more than that on e-bay - take a look and you'll see my price is pretty reasonable.
11/15/2007 4:55:08 PM
Why are these things sooo darn expensive?!?!? I work on a T40 here at IBM and it sucks. It looks like the most archaeic laptop I've ever seen in my life.
11/15/2007 5:32:57 PM
its built with good ass shit
11/15/2007 5:34:00 PM
I guess that's what it is. I mean, for it to hold all these damn programs mine has on it, I guess so. But damn you'd think IBM could make more modern looking computers. My shit is black and square and old ass keyboard. ARCHAEIC in its finest. Honestly, this is a MULTI TRILLION $$$ corporation and they can't provide better looking, more sleek laptops??? C'mon now. Even the desk tops are horrible. THe screens are like 27'' TVs. HORRENDOUS.

^ Yeah, I agree they are bland, plain, ugly computers but they are a work horse and take a beating! They are also built like tanks! If you ever take apart a Lenovo/IBM you can really tell a difference in the quality and construction compared to say a Dell. The Z-series last year were pretty sweet - they had an aluminum colored top bezel, widescreen - they kind of resembled the consumer line of Lenovo laptops C3xxx series.

^^yup, built to work even after taking a beating.Wouldn't trade my T42p for anything (except, of course, a newer IBM).

^^^^I've got one of these (z61t) and the thing is fucking solid as hell. ThinkPads are where its at.
11/16/2007 1:21:24 AM
Shit, if i was in the market I might buy but i'm not. I adore the T60p that is my work computer. That shit is sweet.
11/16/2007 7:56:26 AM
^^my sister has the Z61.bluetooth and everything.its a solid peice of machinery
11/16/2007 8:25:51 AM
the only thing about ibm I've always hated is the smaller arrow keys.

Just like LadyWolff -- I use a T60p daily and love it. Great deal for someone needing a solid lappy.

STFU baonest.I actually use a T40 every day all day to work. So I have first-hand experience. But anyway, I don't necessarily want a SLEEK one or whatever just because it looks good. I like my T40, but it just looks hideous. I know it's a great computer. I've never had any problems with it AT ALL. And at times, I have like 10 different programs running at once to do my work (Lotus Notes, Notesbuddy/Same Time, CFTs, PACT, CLAIM, etc.) and it runs great.

Not trying to be a bitch, but at the end of the day (keeping in mind you paid $TEXAS$ for this CRAP laptop), it is still an IBM. Wow. Can't believe you paid $1500...I could buy like 3 Gateways or a NICE Compaq
11/16/2007 5:03:37 PM
^There is no such thing as a NICE Compaq. Gateways aren't bad but they don't stack up to a ThinkPad either. And if you think that is a CRAP laptop, then, you obviously don't know laptops and I shouldn't waste my time, should I?

The best plan is to get a $800 Dell laptop and get a new one every 1 or 2 years.

well ive always wanted to try them when they came out. then the library got a hold of some.i dont know. i mean, its smaller compared to my other laptops. and the whole tablet thing i didnt get.its a cool idea, but i didnt know how to use it when you just had the tablet on. i know there is a keyboard on the screen but it wouldnt pop up.i still use it when i go. but im glad i didnt buy one before trying it out at the library

bump...come on this is a good deal...compare to prices on ebay!
11/18/2007 7:59:46 PM
I'm interested... considering that this is 1.5 yrs old, I think $650 is rather steep. I offer $400.. but I am contemplating buying a new sony viao for $800.. (don't bother comparing, I already own a T41p)
11/19/2007 11:17:40 AM
....$400 and don't compare a T41 to a T60? Don't worry...I wouldn't waste my time.
11/19/2007 4:32:48 PM
I meant comparing Sony to IBM.. anyways, I'll keep this in mind. How low can you go? (You mentioned O.B.O)
