I forgot this game came out so soon. I'm like about to cry because i don't have a 360 yet. I'm so pumped.

I forgot this thread was made before. I'm like about to cry because I'm a n00b.oh and I'll start the bidding at $1[Edited on November 12, 2007 at 1:16 PM. Reason : ..]

ibtl and I sent a message to da mod to bump the old thread...
11/12/2007 2:29:54 PM
Got over 95% on two early reviews...not that I was expecting anything less, but still a good sign.
11/12/2007 2:32:35 PM
i heard the story fucking sucks.
11/12/2007 2:48:54 PM

11/12/2007 2:53:41 PM
orlythis comes out tuesday right?
11/12/2007 2:58:11 PM
What kind of rig is recommended to be able to run it on my pc? What's the word on minimal specs?^^^ Credible link or it didn't happen.[Edited on November 12, 2007 at 3:01 PM. Reason : blah]
11/12/2007 3:01:35 PM
^^no ships tuesday on shelves Wed. not sure if EBgames/Gamestop is going to do another one of those 'pre-order to get it first' type of deals.
11/12/2007 3:07:11 PM
i honestly don't see enough hype for this to get sold out, or otherwise for there to be a big issue of getting it release day.here's what i found on a search
11/12/2007 3:11:27 PM
^I like getting it on release day because I'm eager to play it...not saying it will sell out. I have yet to see a game sell out before I buy a copy without a pre-order.
11/12/2007 3:13:39 PM
some people already have iti want a review dang it
11/12/2007 3:25:42 PM
how?
11/12/2007 3:27:29 PM
The Pal 360 Version has been available for download for 3 days now.
11/12/2007 3:35:13 PM
i'd totally bwn jade raymond
11/12/2007 3:42:07 PM
so what type of mod chip are you having to use to play these downloaded games
11/12/2007 3:42:32 PM
there's no mod chip. you just flash the firmware to the DVD drive.
11/12/2007 3:46:45 PM
i've actually hear that the story is pretty damn badass......what could be better than a basically reinvented 'Hitman,' but where you get to kill asshole Crusaders instead of random targets
11/12/2007 6:24:35 PM
11/12/2007 6:30:44 PM
/message_topic.aspx?topic=479313 The link in that thread, leads to both trailers, the first one is the extended one on the commercials.
11/12/2007 11:33:18 PM
let's keep the spoilers to a minimum in the thread since apparently the storyline is supposed to be way out there
11/13/2007 7:51:00 AM
i'll be getting this and the kane and lynch game coming out tomorrow.from what i hear the controls on this are going to be a little out there, sometimes taking 2-3+ buttons to do actions like running across rooftops, etc. (i.e. right trigger, a button, right thumbstick) or something to that effect.
11/13/2007 8:04:50 AM
i'm sure it will take some getting used toI'm wondering why the people that have downloaded this already are not commentingWe're already getting thumbs down in the Mass Effect thread
11/13/2007 8:11:55 AM
i'm wondering if assassin's creed and mass effect will turn out to be two highly anticipated let-downs...
11/13/2007 8:17:30 AM
11/13/2007 8:37:18 AM
someone on the "xbox gamertag" list has it, because i've seen them playing it onlinei commented on it in the xbox games thread, but no one picked it upI really wish I hadn't preordered this through liongames...I gotta wait about 4-5 more days to get it [Edited on November 13, 2007 at 9:20 AM. ^cancel pre-orderwalk into best buyprofit
11/13/2007 9:38:22 AM
in this case, "profit" would mean -$25

reviews so far...100 - Games RadarWith its riveting story, beautiful visuals and surprisingly lifelike world, Assassin's Creed is an incredibly deep, enjoyable game that kept us addicted from beginning to bizarre end.96 - XboxAddictA masterpiece; a true gem. It deserves a place in any serious gamers’ collection. Even though it’s strictly a single player experience, it is a fresh and much needed title in this over crowed sea of average next-gen games.95 - Game InformerIts stunning visual style, high concept story, and wildly open level design are like nothing else, even if too much repetition begins to frustrate in the later hours. It’s a game people will still be talking about five years from now.91 - GameTrailersThe first half of Assassin’s Creed is a truly clairvoyant experience. You’ve never played anything like it. The sagacious story, incalculable crowd interaction, and unprecedented freedom to traverse the environment how you choose are landmark moments. Over time, repetition rears its ugly head, combat becomes a necessary routine, and dimwitted foes snatch you out of the third crusade and remind you that you’re playing a game.70 - 1UPIt attempts a lot of ambitious things and it almost succeeds at every one. But it's apparent that these grandiose ideas may have been a little too much to master the first go-round. But hey, at least the groundwork is laid for a killer sequel -- right, Ubisoft?
11/13/2007 9:52:22 AM
Reviews just don't mean anything anymore
11/13/2007 9:55:11 AM
lol, 1UP looks like a bunch of noobsHopefully the combat control system is really intricate, perfecting those is fun as hell, like Ninja Gaiden and Jedi Outcast (lightsaber combat).
11/13/2007 10:41:24 AM
^ agreed....while I think that there are completely biased game reviews out there (i.e. anything that solely reviews stuff for one console...PS Magazine, Xbox Magazine...not that they completely blow the review...but just enough to make me go elsewhere) you can't deny that the pretty much universally solid great reviews for this say just a little something about the game...
11/13/2007 2:04:22 PM
meh, i trust 1up.
11/13/2007 2:23:37 PM
IGN said its one of the top 5 video game let downs of all time. Strong statement.http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/834/834724/vids_1.html
11/13/2007 2:29:41 PM
strangely enough, i trust 1up more than the other mainstream media. We'll see what Penny Arcade has to say - they'll be my tiebreaker
11/13/2007 2:31:30 PM
WHere does it say that? Im trying to find a review on it and cant seem to find it on IGN's site. One of the many reasons I hate IGN is because their site is so busy and crowded that it looks like ass.
11/13/2007 2:31:58 PM
i would assume it says that in the video that he posted immediately after quoting them
11/13/2007 2:33:57 PM
oh ok mr rolly eyes. ask a simple question and you get lol.
11/13/2007 2:36:07 PM
So I read a few of these reviews (hint: actually read the review, the score is just a number and doesn't tell you squat), it seems like the game starts off very awesome and then turns into an endless repetition of identical quests. The environments are really cool and the game does "Wow" you out of the gates, but it just can't sustain it for the duration of the game. The story is uninteresting and the combat sucks. To me at least, it seems that the publications that gave it high marks stopped playing and reviewed the game after only a few hours in, before things got boring. What a shame.Oh and Gamespy gave it a 7/10.http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/assassins-creed/834669p1.html[Edited on November 13, 2007 at 2:45 PM. Reason : :]
11/13/2007 2:44:35 PM
Wow...maybe i'll stop preordering games now
11/13/2007 2:44:45 PM
Reviews are great and all...but I always like to reserve the final opinion for myself.
11/13/2007 2:50:32 PM
yes, but generally unfavorable reviews are a signthis one is up arms, some like it, some don't...i don't think it validated a purchase on my list given what's out now and within the next few weeks
11/13/2007 3:18:41 PM
still, I've like a lot of games that got really bad reviews. I've also hated a lot of games that got excellent reviews.
11/13/2007 3:20:47 PM
i think it's gonna be a rental
11/13/2007 3:30:06 PM
in theory, any non-multiplayer game should just be a rental. Except I don't have a gamefly subscription because I don't see the value in paying $20+/month to play 1 or 2 games when I can buy them and sell them when Im done. If I was a hardcore gamer with no job then sure. But then I couldn't afford the monthly subscription
11/13/2007 3:31:20 PM
So not until 2008 for the pc release?
11/13/2007 3:32:17 PM
^^The used game market is the reason why we're paying $60 for 360 and PS3 games. Just sayin
11/13/2007 3:38:22 PM
are you selling online, or at an eb?I'll probably want to sell after about a week if what i'm hearing is rightand wth did all these previews on ign say it was this awesome amazing game, and then "oops, real review says it's not that fun"I don't think they get a cut...so why mislead for 5 months?
11/13/2007 3:41:17 PM
^^Have you guys ever researched the history of gaming? Back in the 90's it might have taken between 200k and 300k to fully develop a game, and they still charged 40-60$ for them. Whereas now it might take as much as a couple million to develop a video game, and you're still paying 40-60$ for them. Basically the cost of creating a game has gone out the roof, but the price of that game has stayed static.I just always wonder how they price video games. [Edited on November 13, 2007 at 3:43 PM.
