I know its [old] but didnt feel like searching for the threads(s) on it, but anyway, I worked over there for three years and i can't say it surprises me, its the break room for fleet services, general shop, lock shop, paint shop, and the fabrication shop. This kinda shit used to happen all the time and no big deal was made about it, but now God forbid black people have taken up another cause after this JENA 6 crap, it wouldn't even be that big of a deal except that they made it into one. Its just like the confederate flag debate, slaves worked under the american flag before the civil war, but you don't see them protesting that. They also got fuckin shot 300 years ago for not pickin enough cotton, are they gonna try to ban all guns now?

They (which includes black and whites) hung nooses in response to a pep rally for a rival football game, hang dem cowboys. This whole 'incident,' if you call it that happened 3 months prior to the 6 beating up on Justin.
The DA and his remarks about ending all their lives with the stoke of pen or something like that was what the outcry was over because it seemed racist. It was more meant for everybody acting out of line, but was taken as being directed solely at the 6 and excessive for beating up on somebody.

The whole noose thing happened 3 months prior and the media tried to connect the two through cause and effect but failed.

It's a sad world we all live in, as nobody can get along, but its always the "minorities" that make things a race (gender, religion, whatever) issue. We are all people, for the most part the same, they should let the past go.

this toilet paper thing, if I had been the one who found it, I would have thrown it away and thought nothing of it. but somebody thought, ooh, lets make a big deal about this. This could be a top news story and make NC State look like a racist, hostile place.

That article in the news paper was stupid. Its sad that the girl (president, maybe?) from the African American society thought that everyone should have freaked out and a mass-email should have been sent to students warning about the dangerous incident. WTF! It was toilet paper!

Follow up message from the Chancellor regarding noose discovery:

Last week on our campus, employees discovered what appeared to be a noose in a restroom stall in the Sullivan Shops area of campus. The object itself was small – about 10 inches long – and made of toilet paper. However, the statement it makes is not contained in its dimensions or the material from which it was made. It is a symbol of racial hatred. As such, it is the complete opposite of NC State’s ideals and values.
Let me again make it clear that we are taking this act seriously and will not tolerate such displays. Anyone found guilty of this type of act is subject to the university's disciplinary process and may also face criminal charges. Campus police have thoroughly investigated this incident. We have consulted with the Wake County District Attorney, who has agreed to conduct his own follow-up investigation.
As I mentioned on my home page statement the day of the discovery, there is no room for this kind of action on the NC State campus. It was an offensive act of cowardice and an affront to our ideals of civil discussion, tolerance, respect and a safe place to learn and work. I am saddened and angered that this has taken place on our campus.

For all we know it was some ex-boyscout practicing his knows skills. Unless there was some anti-black message or racial slur with the noose then it is absolutely ridiculous how this "incident" over nothing has been blown up and turned into another "race issue." I seriously want to vomit.
