Inflation, Shitty Economy, Devalued Dollar, High Gas, Illegal Immigrants running amok, housing market going apeshit, drought, the prospect of a socialist whore getting elected, the dumbing down of the populace, terrorism, politicians not looking out for what the people want......and so on and so forth. I suppose every generation thought that things were shitty and eventually stuff balances out, and history moves in cycles...but i hope thats the case. i swear to god i hate this fucking country soooo much. and its only because i love it soooo much that i could hate it soo much. i hate what its become. like a father whose child does wrong, you hate it so much because you know he should know better and you are disappointed.

I'm pretty pessimistic about the future of this country within the next 5 or so years. There's no question that the American Empire is going under and that soon we'll no longer be the biggest player on the world stage, but I get this sinking feeling that things are going to get a whole lot worse, with no end in immediate sight. The ship is sinking, and we're all going to drown with it.

^^damn, that is a rough outlook, unfortunately that seems pretty accuratewe'd need a miracle in so many places to come out of the problems we are currently facingour biggest problems currently include domestic economy, trade, oil prices, and weak dollarthe one thing that puzzles me is that it seems the rest of the world is about to experience growth for a long time, in places like china, india, europe, and africabut this will come at the expense of the US in many factors, and if we want to be a part of this world growth our economy and our way of life will have to go through a MAJOR adjustment, and in order to do that we would probaly have to first go through a depression like event which transforms our society from head to toeand it seems that all the factors are slowly aligning to allow this to occur[Edited on November 9, 2007 at 1:06 AM. I'm starting to think that his radical philosophy of following the Constitution is the only thing that will restore any integrity to government. If he doesn't win the Republican nomination he has a real shot as an independent candidate. He's already raising a good deal of money and has a legit following.

I think the root of most of our problems is simply irresponsibility. It is spreading like wildfire and the govt is quick to pick up the slack.People just arent responsible for thier own actions anymore. Everyone who continues to make bad decisions expects others to pay for them. And those in govt are happy to promise just that. And people continue to support ideas like that. Its beyond me.
11/9/2007 8:09:29 AM
I think it's the wealth distribution. All of the rich fucks earn money off of the hard work and sweat of the lower class and then think they deserve millions upon millions of dollars while claiming the lower class are a bunch of lazy undeserving pricks.Actually I don't think it's the problem, but I think eyedrb is a dick.
11/9/2007 8:19:01 AM
Yeah, things look pretty bad. So, will the next great depression be limited to the US, or will it spread across the globe?

^is it bad for you personally? are you not able to find work and pay your bills? or does spending $texas in iraq and projecting inflation automatically mean the economy is bad]
11/9/2007 10:48:52 AM
I can only respond with what I know. Today the economy is booming; historically economic booms do not last forever; hence I can also conclude like Bernanke that the current economic boom will subside in the future. But slower than current growth is not a recession; growth must become negative for that to happen. Secondly, the Fed. Res. did not increase the money supply to pay for iraq, the American people bought treasury bonds to pay for iraq. Check your sources, they are mistaken. And I see no reason to believe inflation is "just around the corner" since falling inflation is the current trend (less than 1% on an annual basis right now). Finally, this is not the first housing bubble birst, the 1980s experienced no less than three, each one resulting in hundreds of bank failures. Compared to the S&L catastrophy of the 1980s, today's credit crunch is mundane.

the middle classes are the ones getting fucked. The aristocracy is able to use loopholes in the system, george W corporate welfare, and their capital assets to continue making money. The poor and trash of our society through the general "do-gooder" attitude of the liberals and conservatives (who try to make it look like they care also) get free handouts; basically subsidy for being ignorant and stupid. The middle class thus foots the bill and provides the innovation to keep the ball rolling for everyone.

^^^LOLKeep beating the drums for class warfare. Don't let the facts (the middle class pays a lower rate in taxes now than any time in the last 30 years) get in the way of your argument.[Edited on November 9, 2007 at 12:14 PM. Reason : 2]

^^ they do. if you are single lower class mother you get a raise for pumping out new babies. why get a job when the gov't will give you your EBT card and welfare money to sit around eating pork rinds all day watching ricky lake
11/9/2007 12:26:01 PM
When I was a cashier everyone would use their EBT cards to buy ribeye steaks and junk food.

Our country has its problems for sure, but our standard of living is pretty damn good. Our country, just like everything in life, is as good or bad as you see it. We certainly have our problems, and they should be addressed, but we should also acknowledge the good things about American life. We always can and should improve, but we should still recognize that the sky is not falling.

^ LOL. I love it when faced with facts that you dont want to accept, you simply dismiss the idea entirely. "New data released by the IRS today offers interesting insights into the distributional spread of the federal income tax burden, new analysis by the Tax Foundation shows. The new data shows that the top-earning 25% of taxpayers (AGI over $62,068) earned 67.5% of the nation's income, but they paid more than four out of every five dollars collected by the federal income tax (86%). The top 1% of taxpayers (AGI over $364,657) earned approximately 21.2% of the nation's income (as defined by AGI), yet paid 39.4% of all federal income taxes. That means the top 1% of tax returns paid about the same amount of federal individual income taxes as the bottom 95% of tax returns."

if you want to call Hillary a socialist, that's fine. But under what circumstances do you think it's ok to call her a whore? Or is that just how you refer to any woman in power?
11/10/2007 5:27:23 PM
i wouldn't call her a whorei'd call her a huge cunt, though.it's all in her attitude.
11/10/2007 5:43:23 PM
i can see that. cunt, bitch - that's all about attitude. but whore, hoe, slut and the like are clearly sexual references, which I think there are none to speak of for (hillary) Clinton.
