I've been researching and know that for a good grinder, it should be a burr if you're making espresso.Any suggestions? I've found a few reviews, but they are wishy washy about if it's just for coffee or would work with espresso as well.I'm looking to spend $100 or less.I found one called the Solis Maestro, runs about $99 on amazon.com, but again, even though an espresso site recommended it, the amazon reviews say it's no good for espresso beans.

if you really want to do it right, buy a german hand crank grinder

do you want pro results or are you satisfied with mediocre results?b/c you're not gonna get a uniform grind with cheaper machines.i'd recommend a KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder if you are going for cost.it can be found for $99 at costco, a bit more everywhere else.glass all around so static isn't a problem over time, dishwasher safe parts, etc...kinda noisy, but they all are. i dunno if it's still there, but that's where i got mine.you're looking at the wrong color.http://tinyurl.com/3br4uesaeco isn't that good.http://tinyurl.com/3djgmgthat's a starbucks grinder, not really fine enough for real espresso.also a real grinder uses glass and not plastic for parts.i've got a La Cimbali Junior which is the end all for me, but you might not want to spend as much if you don't drink espresso all the time.[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 12:28 PM.
