How is that Weis can still bring in a freaking #1 recuriting class?!!!

clearly if you look at the top 25 recruiting classes for next year, it will be the exact same as the final top 25 poll at the end of next season]
11/7/2007 7:08:20 PM
sweet merciful merv griffinyou people
11/7/2007 7:13:32 PM
who gives a shit about it being Notre Dame? Being Nebraska doesn't seem to be helping that program like it would have 20 years ago.
11/7/2007 8:16:35 PM
awesome, now that fatass weis can look like a bigger fool than he already is when ND doesn't win with the #1 recruiting class!
11/7/2007 8:24:52 PM
have we already forgotten Matt Doherty?
11/7/2007 8:25:19 PM
In Doh's defense, he never got to stick around and see how his no.1 class panned out (Felton, Mccants, May). Had they allowed him one more year, I'm pretty sure Roy would still be coaching Kansas
11/7/2007 8:53:48 PM
i'm pretty sure some of them were going to transfer if d'oh would have stayedthere supposedly was a whole lot of shit going on behind the scenes
11/7/2007 8:57:21 PM
This thread starts with the title and fails hard from there on.Think about it from a recruit's standpoint... it's a big-time legendary program and if you aren't blind and retarded you'll start early on. I'd imagine most blue chip recruits think they need to be on the field.]]]]
11/7/2007 9:10:46 PM
lets wait until all the top 100 recruits commit before we slap labels, mmmk?
11/7/2007 9:16:09 PM
How has nobody noticed "Recuriting?"He not only did it in the thread title, it was in his first post too...I expected more from TWWers
11/7/2007 11:31:05 PM
he had top 10 recruiting classes the last 2 seasons as welland now ND is one of the worst teams in the country
11/7/2007 11:40:23 PM
^^
11/8/2007 12:19:18 AM
in before the motherfucking lock that is merited
11/8/2007 1:28:04 AM
well now he can use things such as "you can be one of the guys known for bringing ND back to the top" or "obviously the guys we have now suck so its pretty good odds you can come in and start playing immediately rather than spend a year or two as a backup"
11/8/2007 8:23:33 AM
i hope they lose to air force
11/9/2007 10:58:52 AM
they fucking suck and i laugh at all their fans

Weiss has a large amount of pro contacts, and recruiting classes don't take shape until they are RS Soph's or true juniors (for the reference about his last two classes), for the most part, yes there are Tebows and Reggie Bush's out there, but the majority of the class takes 3 years to take shape. Mix in a promise of early PT from Weiss, with his NFL background, and the most storied college program in America, and you've got something good going on. Nebraska may think they possess these characteristics but they don't, and Weiss still has 7 years of guaranteed 3M a year left so he ain't going anywhere.
11/9/2007 11:33:20 AM
spoken like a true delusional Notre Dame homer who keeps telling himself "hey man we're such a great program historically that I just can't fathom a bunch of warm weather modern day powerhouses with less stringent academic requirements like USC and Florida taking the best talent. Clearly we deserve to be the best. Also Nebraska and ND are completly different."dude your team is 1-8...tell me what all of Weis' NFL experience has to do with coaching high school kids into D1-A talent?]
11/9/2007 11:42:00 AM
^ uh, what are you talking about. It's not debatable. Notre Dame IS getting the best talent still. It's right there rated by every recruiting service available. Unless you think ESPN, Scout.com and Rivals.com is "a bunch of Notre Dame homers."If you don't think that will translate to on field succss then you are the delusional one. Weis will be kept and given time to turn it around for the exact same reason Willingham was let go. Willingham couldn't recruit well enough and Weis can. Show me a school with back to back classes like Weis has gotten that doesn't perform... you can't. Everyone knew after the Brady Quinn/Samardzja class was gone there was going to be a major rebuilding year.. maybe not this bad, but still bad...V three full years of his own full recruiting classes.[Edited on November 9, 2007 at 11:56 AM. So how many years until they can't blame the previous coach?

and you're pretty delusional about their supposed birthright to be a top tier programirrational would be finding a bright spot in a 1-8 record when you just lost to NavyI mean you say Weis can recruit...who has he recruited?]

Weiss can recruit fine, but he can't develop players. You still have to coach up the kids you get, and he doesn't seem to be able to do it. He just stares at his laminated play sheets all game. Most young teams on the verge of being good the following years show signs of life... Notre Dame has done nothing to show that the future is going to be any better.
11/9/2007 12:52:49 PM
Some of you are confusing me, who is Weiss? The old shortstop from Carolina that played for the Braves and Rockies?
11/9/2007 12:57:13 PM
There's a difference between Chapel Hill getting top 25 classes a few years in a row, and Charlie Weis getting something like 4/5th last year and the #1 this year. Are you serious? The difference in talent between a #15 class and a #1 class is huge. No, sad to say, we are going to have to deal with the fact that Notre Dame is gonna be nasty again soon. Fuck ND, but they are gonna be good.[Edited on November 9, 2007 at 1:47 PM. Reason : .]
11/9/2007 1:47:32 PM
well let them talk their shit when they're good, not about when they're going to be goodwhens the last time they won a bowl game? 10 years ago?
11/9/2007 1:49:55 PM
Cotton Bowl, New Years Day 1994 versus Texas A&M I believe. That was the year they beat FSU and then lost to BC after a huge comeback the following week.. They were a missed FG away from winning the National Championship. Actually a lot of people think to this day they should have since FSU won it with the same record and ND BEAT them head to head..[Edited on November 9, 2007 at 1:51 PM. Reason : x]
11/9/2007 1:51:18 PM
It doesn't matter or not whether they are good, it just matters that they don't go 1-11 so ESPN has no possible way to suck their collective dick. One they are back to 10 win seasons, we're never hearing the end of it
11/9/2007 1:55:09 PM

for real...if they were as big and bad of a program as they think they are here in 2007, they wouldnt reBUILD, they'd reLOAD
11/10/2007 6:13:49 PM
its cute that these threads even exist
11/11/2007 1:46:38 AM
it's cute that notre dame is the worst fucking team in the country and you act flattered that we're talking about it.
11/11/2007 2:18:40 AM
The Notre Dame vs. Duke game is going to be about as epic as Patriots vs. Colts.
