have you had any starting issues with the car?
11/8/2007 11:21:31 AM
i saw this car driving down western today heading towards cary. i laughed at the grill guard. shit would be good at pushing a moose out of the way i guess tho.
11/8/2007 11:27:33 AM
iPod ready (via cassette adapter)
11/8/2007 11:36:50 AM
^^^ I had the starter motor replaced last year along with the battery.^^ Yeah, the grill guard is large.^ I'm including the cassette adapter, dick
11/8/2007 3:32:11 PM
you aren't getting that buy it now price for it, what would you really take for it?
11/8/2007 4:12:50 PM
$2500
11/8/2007 4:39:44 PM
i mean, KBB values it at 6,800...there is a minor cosmetic dent on the front and a dent on the back. you can just take the grill guard off for free...other than that, it runs like a champ^^ probably won't get the buy it now price, realistically expecting $6000...check Kelly Blue Book if you'd like.
11/8/2007 5:37:42 PM
KBB takes in to consideration that it has a Salvage title?
11/8/2007 6:01:36 PM
I doubt you get a single bid on ebay, this vehicle is more of a local sale type than an ebay showcase item. I had a 1997 4 Runner limited, it was one of the best cars I ever owned, great vehicle, I think your price is a little high with a salvage title.
11/8/2007 6:10:31 PM
11/8/2007 6:51:11 PM
yeah, i agree, the salvage title is a bitch. thank you for your input. I'm not in a hurry to sell it, so I can wait it out and see if someone is willing to make an offer in my price range.
11/8/2007 6:52:02 PM
don't some companies refuse to insure salvage cars? i remember not being able to drive my car because of lack of insurance after it was totaled. that would be something to look into.
11/9/2007 12:37:20 AM
good grief, give that brush guard back to the fullsize truck you took it from. also fyi, that's not going to do a damn thing against even a small deer, much less a moose.
11/9/2007 1:55:12 AM
I'll trade you my Evo for your 4Runner and $50,000 cash.
11/9/2007 2:42:51 AM
^^^ I've insured this car no problem for 4 years^^ i didn't put the grill guard on, came with the car, like i said, it can be taken off...but thanks again for all of the input, my bad for putting this on TWW
11/9/2007 7:53:02 AM
lol, that grill gaurd is hilarious. how do you not hit other cars with it?

Has the brush guard been smashed or does it really fit like that? It looks like it was made for a full size pickup. $2500
11/9/2007 9:43:30 AM
^it's definitely a guard for a fullsize.
11/9/2007 12:42:44 PM
ahahaha
11/9/2007 12:45:06 PM
hahahahahathread of the week (mostly because of the grill guard)
11/9/2007 12:57:05 PM
1) yes, the grill guard obviously doesn't fit the car, as I said, I didn't put it on there...2) I agree with the points made above, I know $6,000 is very optimistic3) current high bid is $4,200thank you all, you are the best
11/9/2007 2:44:53 PM
Take the brush guard off, take more pics, send me half the extra money I just helped you get out of your car
11/9/2007 2:54:33 PM
Yeah man, sorry if I sounded harsh. I really do believe you'd do better to just toss the grill guard (hoping it's not welded on!) and go from there. The salvage title and dented tailgate really won't phase some buyers and you can't really do too much about them, but the brush guard can probably be gone in like 15 minutes with a socket wrench. Just something to consider if eBay doesn't work out for ya.

sold for 5,500 this weekend, had to hold out for a couple of weeks, but some high schooler now has a pretty good high school car....goes to show 1) know the value of your product, 2) be patient, and 3) tww will always lowball everything/overly criticize (i.e. getting hung up on a removable grill guard and ignoring important items such as engine condition, etc)thanks to the Skaaks/Garfus99's of the world that actually provided constructive advice
12/6/2007 10:22:57 PM
4) there's always a sucker
