not sure where to put this, but i have two bikes and a small garage and i need a good way to store these bikes....basically i've seen several kinds1) pulley up the ceiling type2) hooks on the wall3) freestanding one above the other (like this: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/images/products/large/6638.jpg)4) on the floor bike stand (like this: http://walltowallstorage.com/i/Racor%20Products/ProStor_PBS-2R_Floor_Bick_Rack.jpg)I'd like to store the bikes on the side of the garage against the wall, where I have a little bit of room. I'm liking #3, but not sure if it's a pain to get the bike up on top. Obviously #4 is easiest but takes more width.Any bikers out there with first hand experience on these?

if you don't mind expensive, i've got a rack that folds flat against the ceiling.if you have enough space, might be worth considering.

I used to have something very similar to #3... decent space saver(used inside an apartment bedroom)... and putting the bike on the top was never a major hassle. Switched to hanging the bikes on the wall in the garage to free up more floor space. I don't have any first hand experience with the other 2 options.

yep. find the studs and get hooks that are strong enough.wal-mart sells a pack of 2 hooks just for that purpose in their hardware dept.

i have 5 bikes hanging along one garage now by hooks. put a hook into a stud and hang em by the front wheel.

these hooks can actually hold all that weight? ....well my road bike is not that heavy but mountain bike is heavier

are the garage walls made from studs or block?

I've got a 4 bike car roof rack that I'll sell for $25. You could dismantle it and hang it.
