delete some of the unused plugins from the plugin folder, and restart. many times faster.

actually i already installed it, but the website i'm having trouble with won't open pdf's into tabs...i can save them to my computer but that's a lot of trouble for the 20+ documents i want to see

firefox is still trying to use adobe to open them, even though foxit opens the saved pdfs...must be a firefox extension somewhere

Just make sure to open the task manager and end the process after you close the viewer... their red x in the upper right-hand corner is really just a fancy minimize button.

THANK YOU! I have always wanted to make this thread I hate Adobe Acrobat

I think adobe broke my computer again. I'm getting the "You don't have permission to restart your computer." message and there's no windows on the taskbar, despite having 3 applications open.

Anyway, I'm having trouble printing through Foxit, it says I need to have a printer installed, but I print through a network printer. Anyone know if its possible to do that? i'm having trouble reinstalling Adobe, because I apparently fucked it up when i took out some plugins.

I like Acrobat

ThePeter

assuming you only need Acrobat Reader and not the full program, you can downgrade to an earlier / faster version...you can even go back as far as version 2.0 though I wouldn't recommend going back that far....iirc 5.0.5 is a pretty solid version

yah, version 5 FTW.

There's also a firefox plug-in that converts them to webpages on the fly. (works great)

And the linux version works WAY faster too - I like it.
