delete some of the unused plugins from the plugin folder, and restart. many times faster.
11/5/2007 2:51:59 PM
hit Alt-F4 as many times as you possibly can for the next 5 seconds

Just make sure to open the task manager and end the process after you close the viewer... their red x in the upper right-hand corner is really just a fancy minimize button.

THANK YOU! I have always wanted to make this thread I hate Adobe AcrobatI hate when I inadvertantly click a web page that's in pdf and I have to wait for Acrobat to load10/10

I think adobe broke my computer again. I'm getting the "You don't have permission to restart your computer." message and there's no windows on the taskbar, despite having 3 applications open.Anyway, I'm having trouble printing through Foxit, it says I need to have a printer installed, but I print through a network printer. Anyone know if its possible to do that? i'm having trouble reinstalling Adobe, because I apparently fucked it up when i took out some plugins.

am i the only person that likes acrobat?it's not slow for me... comes up almost immediately...
11/28/2007 12:51:43 PM
I like AcrobatThePeterassuming you only need Acrobat Reader and not the full program, you can downgrade to an earlier / faster version...you can even go back as far as version 2.0 though I wouldn't recommend going back that far....iirc 5.0.5 is a pretty solid versionhttp://oldversion.com/program.php?n=acrobat
11/28/2007 12:53:32 PM
alsothe actual full acrobat program runs much faster than acrobat reader
11/28/2007 12:54:37 PM
god dammitapparently all i needed to do was restart

yah, version 5 FTW.There's also a firefox plug-in that converts them to webpages on the fly. (works great)And the linux version works WAY faster too - I like it.
