Grand Valley State won by 3 points.

Quote :
"The Spartans shouldn't have been shocked at the loss since they trailed the Lakers for more than 38 minutes before escaping with a win last season. This time, Grand Valley controlled the game for most of its 50 minutes."

Guess we're not their first major test anymore

lol, I'm sure it is just a fluke, probably just didn't take them seriously at all, but it is still funny.

Didn't someone in the ACC get upset in an exhibition last year? Maybe Boston College?

you guys this game is an exhibition game. This is not their first game and it doesn't count at all (no sos) and the team is nowhere near the level of santa clara or app state. This is a division 2 team. Most of the top high school teams would destroy any division 2 team. Any decent player can play division 2 basketball.

Well if it doesn't count then their #8 ranking will not be affected.

^Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised to see them out or nearly out of the next top 25 ranking.

They'll drop in the rankings from this, but probably not out of the top 25 and rankings don't matter much in college basketball at the start. There are plenty of games and plenty of time to get reshuffled by the end of the year, unlike college football. Bad for us though, I want Mich St. to be ranked as high as possible when we play them.

Rankings don't matter much in college basketball ever.

That's why it's awesome.

well its kind of funny because this is the one season college footblall rankings didn't matter. Any major college team could be top 8 right now. If ncstate was undefeated we'd be #1 or #2. the bcs will work this year.
