Dear Str8BacardiL,That's probably a good idea. It's also probably a good time to carefully contemplate the phrase "you can be held accountable for your actions".Shamefully looking down on you,EMCE

i showed my boss facebook a while ago so he could check out what it was all about. then he realized he could really see what potential interns/new hires were like outside of interviews. then facebook opened up to everyone. now its just

10/29/2007 10:08:47 PM
i kinda want to delete mine...i'm tired of getting caught up in so much of this conformist shit...i wish i could live off the land and be left alone
10/29/2007 10:11:03 PM
i didn't sell out shit, once facebook opened up to everyone it was pretty much a free for all. now you're just dumb to have incriminating shit on there (see: the facebook photos in the webshots whores thread)
10/29/2007 10:11:19 PM
^ noyou pretty much sold them out when you showed your bosswould he/she know about it if you hadnt showed him/her?i hope you got something out of that because you lost any semblance of manhood that you hadwhat you do on the company time is the company's business, what you do on your time is your business

both incriminating or non-incriminating. It's probably a good idea to not have your name attached to something public that shows you doing a keg stand naked, with a fifth of smirnoff vodka sticking out of your ass while letting some woman of the night pinch your nipples and draw pictures of dicks on your chest......and then have it readily available for viewing by anyone you hope to earn respect from.this has been your daily reality check
10/29/2007 10:15:44 PM
personal experience EMCE?
10/29/2007 10:17:09 PM
nope, not at all.Let's just say that I'm well read, well informed, and have common sense. i.e., I have business associates put in the position to hire new people to their organization. And facebook isn't just for the young crowd. It's a tool used by anyone with a computer and a basic understanding of how to flip on a light switch

wowyou are a huge douchebagas long as what you do outside of work doesnt get in the way of you doing your work, you should be fine
10/29/2007 10:26:36 PM
In other news she has a pic of another girl sort of touching her boob in the profile.

sorry for opening this industrial-strength 24 pack case of worms

he's not a douche at all in my opinion.it seems like common sense that if you expect 'something' to stay private / or kept within a close group of friends.....you make damned sure that 'something' doesn't meet the internet. And you make absolute damn sure that 'something' doesn't have your name attached to it.Sure, it would be ideal if the internet stayed on the internet....and real life stayed real life....and the two never merged. But that's never been the case. EVER.It's just crazy to me how people in this day and age think that the internet can't possibly forsake them! The internet can't possibly, in any way, affect my real life......I mean.....it's just a computer backed up by a series of tubes, right?

im saying that as an employer, if an employee is doing the work assigned to a satisfactory level, then what said employee does off the clock should not be a concern to the employergod damn look at my first post in this thread:

^^Do you even have a real job? I can understand your point of view if you are just working for beer money, which i'm assuming you are...that is if you even have a job at all. However, when you have a professional career in any field. What you do outside of work matters a lot. You represent the company and yourself.
10/29/2007 10:44:14 PM
^^^ getting fired and "potential interns/new hires" are completely different things my friend I'll leave it at that]

no it was a real job that i had before grad schooli actually needed my degree to apply^ these were career peoplepeople, i am agreeing that you shouldnt fuck up outside of workbut i dont agree that it should matter, and i think that it is bullshit that it does

I mean do you want one of your female executives running some amateur porn studio in her basement and post it all over facebook type sites for all to see? No. She's free to do that if she so choses but for the sake of the companies reputation and hers in the professional job market... she should keep it private.
