Haha, nice. I thought those cars would be dead by now.

Actually, that is pretty damn funny. They should have a demo derby and end their misery.

My neighbor loves them. Up to 50mpg in a disposable car. Also they were made by Kia, with Mazda engines. You can rest assured that nothing about the car was touched by Ford.[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 4:34 PM. Reason : .]

90% (probably more) of the craigslist thread is goofy ads like what you posted here...I guess you were the one who didn't read it.

One of my cousins had a Festiva that she kept for over a decade. Something happened like the windshield wiper motor broke and the dealer said the only way to get to it was to cut off the cowl, replace the part, and then re-weld the cowl or something. She got quoted over $1100 to replace the windshield wiper motor. lolShe had a system of wedging the gas pedal down to the floor so that it had a one speed cruise control. I think the cruising speed was around 80 with the pedal wedged down.

I remember seeing some aftermarket parts for Festivas out there when I was looking for parts to fix a friend's Aspire. On a related note I read about a Geo Metro "spec class" being introduced at some rallies in the northwest a couple of years ago. Basically a metro with no engine mods and some basic safety features added. -- Dave
