say you run out for a second and leave your car running...when you return it is gone...will insurance cover you?
10/26/2007 1:46:11 AM
I hope not. I don't want to pay - via higher rates - for the negligence of others. Insurance is for accidents, not stupidity.
10/26/2007 1:47:49 AM
haha. your car is gone.
10/26/2007 1:48:18 AM
this didn't happen to me btw
10/26/2007 1:48:32 AM
insurance "should" cover you. the car was stolen. assuming that you have insurance that covers your car being stolen
10/26/2007 1:51:06 AM
as long as you don't mention that you left the keys in the car.
10/26/2007 1:57:47 AM
Insurance is for accidents, not stupidity.i wish this was the case
10/26/2007 8:57:39 AM
don't worry, car was found in the greensboro ghetto...keys still in ignition
10/28/2007 4:49:59 AM
My insurance would cover the stolen car, but not its contents. Yours (or the actual victim's) may vary. Read your policy.[Edited on October 28, 2007 at 5:08 AM. Reason : i don't keep anything in there that wouldn't be covered by insurance tho]

My ex-bf's insurance covered all the shit in his car when it got stolen from Talley. I think there was some sort of cap to how much they would cover though.
10/28/2007 8:14:32 AM
methinks it depends on the policyex. If you have a bunch of high end aftermarket stereo shit it wont be covered unless you add a rider in most cases.
10/28/2007 9:14:51 AM
some ngr parked infront of pap johns last night out here in knightdale. running ,windows down and shit rap playing. i wanted to just get in and ghost ride that shit in to the old winn dixxie. bottom line you should have had a sign saying please joyride my car

10/28/2007 12:01:22 PM
not sure where exactly in greensboro...he just told me it was in the part of town he figured it would end up at
10/28/2007 12:10:22 PM
usually your car insurance, depending on the company really, will not cover items in the car if u were to get in a wreck or your car stolen or watnot.renters insurance or your home insurance will cover the items in the car.it sounds stupid but a friend of mine worked at an insurance company and said thats how it works
10/28/2007 12:24:43 PM
It is because of eventualities such as this that I never leave my engine running.
10/28/2007 12:28:32 PM
i laugh at those people who go to food lion and park right next to the door, where it says fire lane......no parkingand they leave the car running with no one inside.someday...............that shit is gonna bite them in the ass
10/28/2007 12:29:36 PM
my insurance covers the contents of my car up to $300. the questions is, does the stereo count as part of the car or contents of the car?
10/28/2007 1:17:15 PM
lol... Greensboro ghetto. My only question is "Which Greensboro ghetto?" (Plus it was A&T Homecoming, so almost all of Greensboro turned ghetto.)
10/28/2007 2:12:07 PM
My friend had his window smashed and his stereo and subwoofer stolen. They covered the window and the stereo, but not the subwoofer because it wasn't "secured" to the car with a chain or bolt or anything.

Funny story:My buddy and I went downtown to White Collar last night to meet some people, initially 100% sober. We took his car, but couldn't any parking near the place, so we parked on the curb by the train station (fairly sketchy area to begin with). Went in for about an hour, and when we went to leave, he couldn't find his car keys anywhere. Looked all around, asked the bartenders, no avail...so we figure he must have locked them in the car.We walk back out to his car and there they are, in the ignition, doors unlocked, car still running. I'd have slapped him for being such a dumbass if I could have used my arms for anything other than keeping my face from hitting the pavement I was laughing so hard.

i did ^ at the mall oncewent shopping for a few hours, and while im looken 4 my keys i put my bags on the hood of my car and i thought, damn i can't believe the engine is still hot......wait. It was quite the moment
10/28/2007 4:00:26 PM
Whenever I see a car running unattended I'm tempted to hop in and drive it a few blocks away just to make a point. Of course, I would have to walk back to get my car, and thats when someone would kick my ass.
10/28/2007 4:08:53 PM
haha, it's funny you should say this OP because say you run out for a second and leave your car running...when you return it is gone...will insurance cover you?

BubbleBobble has had a car?
7/9/2014 1:14:04 AM
I am confused. Why bump a 7 year old thread?
7/9/2014 6:28:29 AM
Say I'm going to Harris Teeter, the Dollar Store, or Planet Fitness, and there are 3-4 cars parked in the fire lane. If I slash their tires, am I justified?
7/9/2014 7:49:14 AM
bubblebobble == shoot
7/9/2014 8:33:40 AM
^^ Aren't you the police? Wait til they come out and beat the shit out of them then book them for resisting arrest.
