Last thread was deadanyone going on Friday?

i'm guessing this movie is in real-time then? kind of like 24 (tv show)
10/23/2007 10:15:24 PM
^from what I've heard I don't think soI just really hope this movie doesn't follow the slippery slope the others had to get progressively worse...b/c I'm kind'of addicted to the series due to my inability to start something and not finish...gah[Edited on October 23, 2007 at 10:33 PM. scene that surfaced awhile back was pretty cr00sh
10/26/2007 2:13:05 AM
i want the saw series to go the way of Friday the 13th, an most other long running horror series...i want it to get completely ridiculous. Saw in space, Saw returns from the dead as zombie saw, Saw can implant his soul in another body, Saw goes to New York, Saw goes to summer camp, Saw goes to college....the possibilities are endless. i expect them to drag this out until it becomes absolutely more ridiculous than it already is...i cant wait
10/26/2007 12:01:39 PM
this will be the first Saw that I wont be seeingafter the shitty 3rd movie, I wont be giving anymore money to this franchise
10/26/2007 12:36:41 PM
watching the cool youtube death traps is good enough for meand reading the wiki on the traps; the storyline is kinda meh[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 12:49 PM. Reason : i love the angel trap]
10/26/2007 12:49:25 PM
I WILL DEF SAW SAW 4
10/26/2007 8:17:39 PM
Saw 4 was pretty much what I expectedThey just get worse and worse. The traps were still pretty cool though. but as far as story goessaw>saw2>saw3>saw4
10/27/2007 12:37:44 AM
i thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously its hard for them to come up with completely new material, but I thought it was as good as most scary movies. The worst part is the beginning scenes, if you've seen it you know what i mean.. just so graphic.
10/27/2007 6:09:34 AM
Just got back from it. I thought it was better than III, in my opinion. Plus it did clear up some of the stuff from III, like how Jigsaw got all of that shit into place by himself if he was testing Amanda (and therefore didn't have her help). And as always, the traps were nastily gory. But just once I'd like to see the Saw movies end where somebody does manage to complete their trial and walk away. The success rates of all these victims is pretty depressing.
10/27/2007 3:22:41 PM
i thought 3 was the best, hopefully going to see 4 this weekend
10/27/2007 3:32:31 PM
it seems like they could have chosen anyone to be the "new apprentice." it really didnt matter as far as the storyline was concerned.
10/27/2007 10:41:23 PM
i read up on wiki about the traps and plot, it seems pretty weak but i guess my final verdict will have to wait till i see it
10/28/2007 2:10:21 AM
if you liked the others, it is worth a go. i also thought it was better than the 3rd one though the "twist" was weaker.
10/28/2007 8:52:46 AM
in my opinion, this was probably the 2nd best next to saw I. Also, the whole idea with the plot twists, etc. and how they could of made anyone the "new apprentice", I doubt anyone could of guessed how it was going to end up, thus making their plot/twist a surprise to everyone which is a major element of the Saw movies. I enjoyed it, confusing near the end until you discuss it with others, but I think it was good.
10/28/2007 10:22:08 AM
i just watched it, it was pretty good i think. the plot works pretty well in the movie, the twists are pretty weak though. the end sequence in the ice room was pretty ~ too.how did the 'feel what i feel' trap work? *******I saw where he was on the bed and i guess he had two triggers in his hands, since he got one of them off. Did the bed just rip his arms and legs off by force when the timer went down, or did it cut them off?***********also, i read the wiki for the comic "SAW: rebirth" which is the prequel to SAW (Jigsaw's beginnings) and its pretty funny how wrong it is.[Edited on October 28, 2007 at 3:25 PM. Reason : pwnt]
10/28/2007 3:08:02 PM
I just saw it and I thought it was better than 3 also.^ The guy had 60 seconds to decide whether he wanted to keep his eyes or his body. If he kept his eyes, he had to pull the triggers in his hands to releases the picks onto his eyes. If he decided on his body, he would let the timer run out and the chains would pull his limbs off.
10/28/2007 9:11:24 PM
***SPOILER ALERT***question: I understand how the detective was "supposed to kill an innocent man before this is all over with" and he ended up shooting the guy in the room where jigsaw was killed, but how was jigsaw in the room when the "new guy" shut the door? he was supposed to be on the coroner's table wasn't he...isn't that how they found the wax tape? I don't really understand the time loop deal...
10/28/2007 10:04:43 PM
***SPOILER/ANSWER ^saw 3 and 4 were happening at the same time. the scene they showed in the beginning with him on the table was really the end at some point later...how much later...we do not know. for all we know, that scene could be after saw 5 after saw 6...it is sometime in the future and im sure future saws will address all those issues.
10/28/2007 10:16:38 PM
^^SPOILERS AHEADChronologically, the beginning of the movie actually took place at the end. We don't find out until the end of the film that the events of this movie are happening concurrently with the previous movie. When the detective dude busts into the operating room, it's almost immediately after the dude had killed Amanda and Jigsaw. It then becomes clear that Jigsaw's autopsy happened after this. It's as if the tape at the beginning was narrating previous events (or perhaps, rather, Jigsaw's apprentice was remembering the sequence of events), and the audience sees the story as it is revealed. But we are initially led to believe that it is not a summary of past events, but is instead the beginning.[/spoilers][Edited on October 28, 2007 at 10:26 PM. Reason : someone else beat me to it]
10/28/2007 10:26:18 PM
******************yea, but was the detective locked in the final room? the new apprentice closed the door, but they somehow got out of there and did the autospy, where they found the tape.
10/28/2007 11:04:48 PM
^yes, so we have no clue of telling how much futher into the future the scene is where they are cutting him open.
10/28/2007 11:46:15 PM
i found this one more confusing than the previous three. but the comments above clear it up a little. i think it's the kind of movie that is good to see again in order to get the full picture
10/29/2007 8:07:08 AM
ncsu919 def. helped clear the air...somewhat***b/c I didn't understand that the "new apprentice" shut the door on the detective, who was then in the same room as the autopsy in the scene in the beginning of the 4th movie...which, to me, doesn't make any f'n sense!! But thanks for "somewhat" helping me along...still, you have to admit...this is a really fucked up way to direct a movie where 75% of the audience is completely like "wtf...so when did this all happen" at least it seems like this to me...I usually follow movies fairly well and still couldn't put together a timeline in my head that could accurately/rationally explain wtf was going on.....
10/29/2007 3:53:24 PM
10/29/2007 4:04:30 PM
yeah, it really wasn't much of a surprisei don't think i'm going to the theater to see the 5th one
10/29/2007 5:09:28 PM
people have complained about the plot twists since the first one, which I personally thought was awesome
10/29/2007 9:40:18 PM
you know if in Saw IV ended with something that was logical and easy to see then a lot of people would of given it the "ah I saw that coming...I knew it"..to me id much rather have something happen that i could not of guessed or predicted rather than to see it coming. Pick your poison, I liked it.but also, going out to the movies to see things like Saw that I actually want to see reminds me why I never do, in movies like Saw or other ones where attention to detail is key, people always fucking talk and you miss a shit load of stuff..just pisses me off [Edited on October 29, 2007 at 10:11 PM. Reason : .]
10/29/2007 10:09:29 PM
They're still making these movies?
10/29/2007 10:12:46 PM
**********crazy how the tape's discovery basically says that there will be at least 2 more movies, 1 with the apprentice testing new subjects and then him discovering the tape at the end, followed by his test. Or, the next movie will include his test and he discovers the tape during that movie while the detective is undergoing his trial and end up being another '2 things at once' movie with two plotlines running simultaneously.Pretty intense stuff
10/29/2007 10:15:42 PM
definitely one of those movies that will give you a headache if you try to think it out too much.
10/29/2007 11:21:11 PM
it should also be noted that the transitions in this movie are done tremendously well. The way they change scenes without a camera cut, but instead use an on screen object to do a wipe or change it in another way was sweet. i like the scene where jigsaw turns around and for a second you think he's in the interrogation room...
10/29/2007 11:49:57 PM
i thought it was a good movie. my only problem was that the shots where you are supposed to read the notes or writing on the walls often cut away to quickly for me to both view the entire scene and read the print
10/30/2007 9:10:25 AM
^^^lol
10/30/2007 9:40:36 AM
Just saw it. Am pretty disappointed. I found it confusing as hell. It doesn't help that the FBI agent, apprentice, the lawyer, and the dude that was a wife beater all looked the same!!! So does Agent Strahm get locked up in the room at the end to perish or is he the one that actually gets Jigsaw's body out of there we assume? I could have swore the door (meat locker style) was locked behind him. I'd just appreciate an explanation of the ending and how it tied into the third one because it lost me! What was the deal with Jigsaw's old partner? Did his wife run off with that man?
11/2/2007 6:38:33 PM
I just saw it, was very confused. Here is a spoiler I found in another forum that kind of clears things up.Hoffman (White Cop/Jiggsaws Apprentice) set up the stuff for Riggs (Black Cop).I believe he was attempting to frame him to be the unknown living Jigsaw accomplice that Strahm (The New Man Cop) and Perez(sexy bi*ch) was talking about thats why he set up all those pictures in his house. So this way if Riggs Died before he got to them, They would have an accomplice and Hoffman would be in the clear. He was tired of seeing him trying to save everybody and not really thinking of himself.Thats why he wrote "see as i see/feel what i feel" because all of his officers were becoming obsessed with the Jigsaw murders and since he been helpin Jigsaw since the beginning he would be exposed. The man in the beginning with his mouth stiched was the lawyer. he was also the man who had Hoffman and Mathews (cop whos son was napped in saw II)After Jigsaw's unborn baby was killed by the drug addict who his wife was helping, Jigsaw came up with the idea that you cant save people they can only save themselves such as he did after his car accident. This is the lesson that he is trying to teach Riggs. Riggs was not supposed to save anyone. He was only supposed to give them the tools to save themselves or simply walk away and let go in some cases such as everyone had been instructing him to do throughout the entire film.Every trap had a counter trap to kill riggs should he help the people:The prostitute had a knife to kill riggs. His face was caught on camera at the motel. The spear that killed that officer at the school was for Riggs just in case he touched the trap rather than telling the woman to free herself. The lawyer was told to hit the button to set them all free once the time was up but not before. That is why Hoffman put himself in the trap to make so that if The lawyer cheated he would know. Then they see that there is another trap just so that if the door opened then that would also trigger all the traps. The lawyer gave Mathews the gun to shoot Riggs with should he enter before the 90 mins was up which would kill everyone in the room (except Hoffman who was in the chair because he set it all up).Riggs comes through another UNSECURED DOOR. This is what that Hoffman had been telling him through the whole movie. "NEVER ENTER AN UNSECURED DOOR." He doesnt listen and it costs the lawyer his life as well as Mathews. We dont know if riggs dies because he is still alive when Hoffman leaves the room. This was Riggs whole lesson... to let people save themselves and not attempt to save anyone. Jigsaw even told him that they would all be released from their traps once the 90 minutes was up.Then Hoffman locks Strahm (the new FBI Agent) in the room fromt the end of Saw III after Strahm shoots Jeff who was about to start looking for his daughter. Then show Hoffman listening to the tape again proving that he is alive and the bodys were recovered. We just dont know how yet.
1/28/2008 1:29:38 AM
orthe plot is, "lots of crazy shit going on while we come up with cool ways to kill people"
1/28/2008 9:34:22 AM
^^your ending is all wrong. Saw III and Saw IV were tech. going on at the same time, or within a very short period of each other. Just showing two different views/story lines.
1/28/2008 10:26:44 AM
Eh, confusing movie. Did they ever explain why Hoffman, a detective, became Jigsaw's apprentice?
2/9/2008 11:15:24 PM
it pissed me off that the cast these two d-bags in two of the most important rolesand as far as i'm concerned they might as well be twin brothers, i couldnt tell who the fuck was doing what the whole time
2/10/2008 12:49:08 PM
I thought the guy on the ice was the dude from saw 3 the whole time.
2/10/2008 12:54:55 PM
what the hell happened?where is the little girl?why is the homicide detective in on this?where did the fbi guy go?somebody really needs to explain wtf just happened i have never been so lost other than lost.

*****SPOILER ALERT*****These movies suck*****END SPOILERS****

i dunno if anyone posted this yet.. but i was just watching Saw IV today, and during the flashback where jigsaw's wife, jill tuck, gets hit by the door in the hospital by that one guy.... while Jigsaw is waiting for her in the Car outside, a hooker comes up and tries to get with him. Im pretty sure this hooker is Addison (the chick with the pink shirt from Saw II who gets her hands stuck in that glass box trap).[Edited on March 14, 2008 at 10:38 PM. Reason : .]
