10/23/2007 2:26:24 AM
yeah this is how i felt about 9/11.
10/23/2007 2:28:08 AM
dude, at least one person is dead alreadyso I don't think your assertion that
10/23/2007 2:29:12 AM
What do you propose, then?Katrina victims vs. Fire victims in a sympathy-garnering fight-to-the-death?
10/23/2007 2:29:16 AM
im sure there isnt another thread about this...another 12 threads?
10/23/2007 2:29:19 AM
10/23/2007 2:31:48 AM
i'm sure you would feel differently if your house was up in flames
10/23/2007 2:41:47 AM
I haven't watched any coverage of the fire, and I wouldn't know about it if not for bits posted on message boards.
10/23/2007 2:51:56 AM
ditto that.

10/23/2007 6:43:10 AM
We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn, burn motherfucker, burn
10/23/2007 8:36:46 AM
what about people who lost someone before the fire burned all the remaining memories of that person up into flames? any sympathy for them?seriously dude...some of the possessions lost aren't just plasmas, a billion dollar home, and a kitchen fit for a professional chef. it's the memories made inside them, or old pictures and memorabilia that can't ever be replaced by their insurance. it's a pretty devasting thing to lose your home...no matter how rich or poor you are.
10/23/2007 8:56:33 AM
two of my good friends have lost nearly everything out there.they're students, on scholarships, and supplement that with loans. far from "rich" as you say.it sucks
10/23/2007 9:03:29 AM
however, civility reigns at the San Diego Stadium. Nothing at all like what we saw in Katrina.
10/23/2007 9:07:19 AM
I could watch Megyn Kelly talk about wildfires all day.
10/23/2007 9:09:21 AM
You're forgetting that politicians, and therefore nobody, cares about poor people. But rich people? That deserves our full and devoted attention.
10/23/2007 9:10:06 AM
just cause you're rich doesn't mean it's not traumatic....Howard....STFU
10/23/2007 9:12:23 AM
Next time just change the channel.

HERE COME THE RACISTS
10/23/2007 9:43:06 AM
Here I am, oh wait, am I racist?
10/23/2007 9:48:39 AM
just because someones been successful in life doesn't mean they're worth any less as a human being.
10/23/2007 9:52:44 AM
I have a friend who works in LA - she seems to be doing alright, because her HOUSE ISN'T BURNING DOWN (she actually lives in DC)I can see how it would be traumatic for anyone, all their precious items in their houses are being vaporized!
10/23/2007 9:54:55 AM
does she commute every week from DC to LA? my sister is doing that now from Texas to DC, she's ridiculous
10/23/2007 10:08:00 AM
Bush:We're gonna find the terrorists that started these fires and we're gonna take them out. California and the people that live there will have their vengence.
10/23/2007 10:10:34 AM
10/23/2007 10:13:15 AM
the people at the superdome during katrina were the ones too fucking stupid to leave town before a HUGE ASS HURRICANE hit them.these people are ones who had the foresight to leave their homes before the fires burned them.of course there is a difference.
10/23/2007 10:24:13 AM
why all the hate, Howard? If your house burns down, you are losing a lot more than simple possessions and lots of money. It doesn't matter if you were rich or poor, your home still has significance beyond what money can replace.elkaybie's post explained my point better than I can.
10/23/2007 10:29:58 AM
all this fucking coverage of the fire is pissing me off...i want some real news not this bullshit
10/23/2007 10:31:08 AM
there is no real news. nothing exciting ever happens.

10/23/2007 1:16:33 PM
^^like you wouldn't be upset if your house and everything you owned was burned to the ground?regardless of how much or how little money you have, losing all you own sucks, especially if it's a pet.you're pathetic [Edited on October 23, 2007 at 1:34 PM. Reason : ]

losing ones home is horrible regardless of income. To not feel sympathy for anyone in this situation shows you are either jealous of their lifestyle or just an idiot.[Edited on October 23, 2007 at 1:53 PM. Reason : .]
10/23/2007 1:53:26 PM
ya, if they actually lost their home, but if it will be easily replaced, i don't sympathize with the inconvenience.
10/23/2007 1:59:23 PM
well, who cares?

Howard is pretty ignorant. Maybe he should just stay on the internet and never venture out into the real world, he might get that ass whoopin' he deserves.BLANKET STATEMENTS ROCK!!!
10/23/2007 2:17:00 PM
I just get sick of the "perfect fire-storm" references. [/care]
10/23/2007 3:23:54 PM
ya, people who lose a couple of wedding pictures and think they've been through a lot are going to whoop my ass
10/23/2007 3:28:33 PM
i'd rather hear about the rich people losing their homes than the poor peoplecause the poor people would blame everything on the government, and the whites.
10/23/2007 3:30:14 PM
I wish you would burn up in a fire.
10/23/2007 3:31:51 PM
10/23/2007 3:35:02 PM
Suffering is always relativeTorture victims say murder victims have it easyMurder victims would say that rape victims have it easyTorture victims would LOVE to be raped and then left aloneBut just because it's relative, that doesn't mean that getting your house burned down doesn't suck a hell of a lot
10/23/2007 4:57:40 PM
So I get it....if you work hard and earn enough money to buy a nice house, then if you lose it, it's OK because it was only your own money...but if you have a relatively small amount of money, and depend a great deal on other people's money then if you lose your house, it's NOT OK because it was someone else's money.
10/23/2007 5:05:52 PM
oops i meant set em up
