How common is this? How bad is it?
10/23/2007 1:23:18 AM
sounds sweet if you get away w/ it.but i don't know, as i am 20, and thus am not allowed to drink w/ the common folk.

^I'm thinking back to the times when I was underage.I didn't go to bars that often, but I did a few times in high school.I would get so excited/nervous about drinking in a bar and get really drunk. And I'm just now realizing I don't think I ever paid my tab, especially when I was in Europe...And I feel really, really bad about it.
10/23/2007 1:28:28 AM
ahahahah, i looked at that was like "why"?then I remembered the drinking age is 21that's really retarded
10/23/2007 1:28:46 AM
why dwell on shit that happened a long time ago that makes you feel shitty
10/23/2007 1:29:03 AM
So who else has done this?
10/23/2007 1:29:37 AM
^^^^You have boobs, it's cool...[Edited on October 23, 2007 at 1:30 AM. Reason : .]

10/23/2007 1:31:39 AM
has happened to me a couple times but only at local bars that im a "regular" at... so its no big deal, they just add the tab on to my tab the next time i come in.ive never done it somewhere else though. its just a shitty thing to do to the bartenders. what i've noticed more is that people run up big tabs and get shitfaced... then don't leave a tip. there were a couple guys at woodys last night in cary who drank all afternoon and each had tabs over $100.... they paid the tab but didn't leave a tip. that's bullshit too.[Edited on October 23, 2007 at 1:39 AM. ^^^drunknloaded, this is what I do.I stay up all night thinking of all the uncool shit I've done in my life--from the innocent mistakes to the completely abhorrent, life-changing fuck-ups.Life really is too short for regrets. So I have to squeeze them in by forgoing sleep.^Yeah, I'm the opposite of those guys. If I'm drunk and already spending too much on booze, I tend to say fuck it and go overboard on the tip, too.
10/23/2007 1:43:35 AM
well it's official... i can't have children.
10/23/2007 1:45:27 AM
ha, my mom and i got so smashed in cancoon we left and forgot about the tab. Walked a few blocks, remembered, walked back, and then got a bunch of shots for being nice enough to come back
10/23/2007 1:48:19 AM
good night out w/ the mom, i s'pose.
10/23/2007 1:53:48 AM
I did it once, but I felt bad and wanted to continue being able to patron that bar so I paid up the next day
10/23/2007 1:55:24 AM
we were at Carlos and Charlies. Got some great pictures somewhere
10/23/2007 2:00:15 AM
pics or it didn't happen.
10/23/2007 2:01:42 AM
^^I wish my mom would get drunk with me. As it is now, she has like a half glass of wine and is like, "Whoa, I think I've reached my limit..."And free shots are the best. And the worst. Someone always gets sick once the free shots come out.
10/23/2007 2:25:36 AM
its really damn irritating when you're the server/bartender that gets stuck with it. especially since it came out of MY pocket every time it happened.
10/23/2007 2:26:37 AM
my roommate did this in greenville, left his ID and a credit card with the bar. Had a friend go pick it up and mail it to raleigh.
10/23/2007 7:59:14 AM
they normally still charge the card if its left all night and add in a 12% tip if you leave itso i dont think its a good idea to leave your credit card at all
10/23/2007 8:02:35 AM
I've done it at local small-town joints, and as said before just paid it the next time I went in because I knew the owners.

10/23/2007 8:34:48 AM
DO YOU NEGLET TO TIP BARISTAS ?>!?!?!!?!?!
10/23/2007 10:26:09 AM
ive done this a couple times.its usually better b/c the percentage they add on is lower than what i usually tip when im that drunk.fuck it, just go back the next day
10/23/2007 10:30:02 AM
i was with a group of people once a while back and a couple of us left, apparently they thought we payed and left later without paying... nobody had a card on file, but it was only for a couple pitchersstill felt like an ass

I came close one night in New Orleans. I was at the hotel's bar, and met up with two women. I was completely hammered, and they were getting ready to head to a club and were pulling me out the door with them. We get to the valet station, and while we were waiting for them to bring the car around, I remembered I had left my tab open and told them I had to go sign for it. One of them tells me the name of the club (which is a short distance away), kisses me, and I go back in to pay my tab. I was so trashed that, by the time I walked back out the door, I forgot the name of the place. I walked around for awhile and couldn't figure out which fucking club it was so I went back to my room and passed out.D'oh! This kind of shit happens to me all the time. and I mean ALL THE FUCKING TIME. If I hadn't already broken the ice, I'd swear I was destined to be the real-life 40 yr. old virgin.
10/23/2007 12:26:43 PM
it happens...sometimes its not even cause you're so drunk...you're just ready to go somewhere else and the next day you're like "where's my debit card"
10/23/2007 12:28:12 PM
I think I forgot to sign the thing once last year :\
10/23/2007 2:39:27 PM
i dont remember paying mine last night. but i have my card so i must have
10/23/2007 2:44:39 PM
it's no big deal, they just charge you for it
10/23/2007 2:46:12 PM
You just hope they're honest. Most places will charge a mandatory 18% gratuity on there if you leave without settling.
10/23/2007 2:53:11 PM
