My adviser told me that there's an EMT course at ncsu you can take for a semester and be ready for certification

I think she said its under BME in the registrar but I couldnt find it


any help would be appreciated

these classes fill up fast. PEH280 is the class you want to take to get your EMT-B. PEH281 will get your your Medical Responder, which is useless unless you're a firefighter, and even then it's pretty useless.

you take the class, afterwards there's a certification exam (it's given at least once a month in various locations around NC). if you pass, you're a North Carolina EMT-Basic. the price of the exam is normally included in the price of the class, but since you're taking it as a credit course, you have to pay for the exam.. i think it's somewhere around $50.

i would recommend taking the class at wake tech. more personalized instruction and it's offered at night. i may even be teaching one there next semester - not sure yet.
