Hey guys! I am going to have a couple friends in town next weekend and we want to go to a haunted house. The only problem is I have only been to one haunted house in Raleigh so I am not sure where to tell everyone we are going. So, I need some help for guys. Can you please tell me what you think of the ones here and which one you think we should go to? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

woods of terror in greensboro. i'll post more about it when i get to the office.

ok here we go.Woods of Terror is voted one of America's best haunts in 2007 and has been one of the best in NC for a long time. I went a few years back and was in complete shock when I got out. A group of friends went this past weekend and said it had gotten even better. It's very popular so be prepared to wait. Saturday night they had to wait for about 2 hours but there were some activities and scary movies playing to help pass the time. The cost is 20 bucks. http://www.woodsofterror.com If you want to go to one of the best go to this one.

10/22/2007 8:29:03 AM
greensboro being only an hour away, i figure that's pretty close for one of the best in the country.

I have been to woods of terror several times because I am from the Greensboro area. But, I am looking for something in Raleigh. I have friends coming that have all been to Woods of Terror so it won't hurt their feelings we don't go to what everyone says is the "best".

Kind of off topic since I don't live in Raleigh but I went to a pretty awesome one this weekend. It was a cornfield that had a huge maze (maize!? Anyone? Anyone!?) cut into it. Throughout the field it had people in masks and stuff jumping out and they had different themed parts to famous horror movies. They had a log cabin part that you walk through and Jason jumps out, then they had an old house with bones and stuff where Leatherface ran out of a closet. He had a real chainsaw but they had the chain taken off. Micheal Myers kept following us and scaring the hell out of my gf, I was laughing my ass off and I could hear him laughing under his mask, hahaha. There was an awesome themed part where you walk up and they had a motion sensor to turn on an old TV with static. I was thinking Poltergeist but there was a big "well" to the right of it and the girl from The Ring crawled out. Quite a good one except I got trampled by some stampeding people when some dude jumped out and scared them.PS - I kept thinking of this the entire time I was there:[Edited on October 22, 2007 at 12:21 PM. http://www.thefrightmare.comthe one in Cary that they have been advertising on the radio as the "3D haunted house". Which doesnt make much sense to me
10/22/2007 12:31:10 PM
^I went to one in Charlotte that was "3D" ... it was mostly just a bunch of shit on the walls in that you can see with 3D glasses and of course people dressed up and jumping out at you.^^No it was just something like "Huntsville Haunted Maze"

^^^^^^^Jeepin 4x4 - I did state in my first message that I was looking in Raleigh. I am not sure what the "ass" comment was for but I think it was uncalled for. Thank you for the suggestion though...have you been to any of them? I am looking for people who have been to them as well. ^^^Badboyben - Have you been to these? Are they any good? I appreciate everyone's help...now I just need which ones you have been to and if they are any good...THANK YOU FOR THE HELP GUYS!

clayton fear farm is a huge waste of time and money. we went this past weekend. big disappointment, but it had great potential.

Silent Forest is pretty good. A coworker went to Fear Farm last year and said it was great. I'm going with her and her husband next Tuesday. I'll let ya'll know.

10/22/2007 6:17:21 PM
^^I just moved to Garner last year and saw it. I wanted to go last year but we went to the Charlotte area instead. I might go Friday night before people come to town and see if it is any good...I don't know though. If anyone has seen this one please tell me how it was
10/22/2007 6:30:11 PM
ANYONE??? ANY INFO? REVIEWS?
10/23/2007 11:45:35 AM
^calm down, dude. Next haunted house I'll be doing is Spooky Woods on Friday. After that will be Fear Farm next Tuesday. That will probably be it for me.They are doing something at Adventure Landing off Capital called "Hall of Terror". Looks like it will be lame. Just another haunted house to throw out there.
10/23/2007 12:23:15 PM
soooo, it sounds like the "fear farm" in clayton sucks horribly.whats the best haunted house/field/whatever in or close to raleigh? for those that have been to a bunch, a top 3 or whatever would be sweet.
10/30/2007 8:53:28 AM
Woods of Terror if you don't mind driving to Greensboro. If you want to stay in Raleigh, Silent Forest will be your best bet.
10/30/2007 11:14:39 AM
^ did you read the thread?
10/30/2007 11:42:35 AM
haha, i need to go to spookywoods. i remember finding that last fall when i was in prague and dying at the silly ass pictures of people getting scared
10/30/2007 12:33:50 PM
^ I saw this fat woman try to get on the tram at Spooky Woods. Took her about 10 trys to get on there.

i went to jaycee's this year downtown. it really sucked. it was good considering volunteers put it together...but it was weak...i've been to that corn maze in garner a few times... it was good back then, but it looks like they have really upped the ante this year...
10/30/2007 6:42:31 PM
I didn't think Fear Farm was that bad, I agree with it having potential. It was alright, but it didn't scare me really at all. In that sense, yes, it's a disappointment. We went to all the attractions at the Farm and for what it's worth, it was a good laugh. They have to bank some serious cash there. Our group alone buying the combo tickets at $25 a pop totaled $125. It's worthless really to buy the single tickets at $10/attraction. If you go on only 2 for $20 you already pretty much screw yourself and should just fork over the extra $5 to see the other 3 attractions.
10/31/2007 5:03:11 AM
We went to Ken's Produce and enjoyed it a lot. It probably helped that we all scared easily. Plus, our group made if a lot fun. But, I definitely am going back to this one next year.I did find one out off 42, the House of Terror. I didn't go in it because we just went there to pick up something. But, I think I will try it out next year...so if you hear anything about it...let me know. Thanks!
