Didgeridoos are awesome. You've gotta do the whole circular breathing thing. Takes a while to get the hang of that.
10/21/2007 11:24:57 PM
yeah circular breathing kinda blows my mind, never quite been able to coordinate it

So I assume there's not too may Didgeridoo players out there then? Once you master circular breathing and making the specific drone and "popping" sounds it's a really great instrument. Then once you add in some overtones and some simultaneous beat-box while you got a drone going it sounds pretty neat.

My friend back at home had one that she played. I never thought of it as an overly versatile instrument.

Didgeridoos are great, but if they could invent one that could change pitch...Oh, right. It's called the trombone. And the trumpet. And the tuba. And so on. Same principle, just made out of brass so it doesnt sound like an exended release of wet flatulence.
10/23/2007 5:03:47 PM
last time i checked you couldn't circular breath with a trombone, trumpet, etc.
10/23/2007 5:59:14 PM
10/23/2007 7:09:18 PM
Why couldn't you? It has nothing to do with the instrument. Its just a technique thats not typically used with them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circular_breathing

i actually just bought one this past weekend with a friend of minehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rshWZU56wkQ

I can't circular breath, but I can play mine otherwise. Personally, if I am going to sit on some hippy jam sesh, I'd prefer to bring my djembe.
10/24/2007 2:43:26 PM
shit if we're talkin about preferences, THIS is what i want!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rXcdcDB2S8
