i signed up for ing direct about two months ago because my roommate told me about the advantages:

4.3% interest (compounded monthly) on savings
3.5% interest (compounded monthly) on checking
6 savings withdrawals a month
unlimited/no fees checking
free mastercard debit card for checking
electronic checks (you fill them out and have them sent without actually writing any checks)
etc.

you could say "buy an ad" (go for it), but since 1.) they've already done it, apparently and 2.) i don't work for them, it's rather pointless...really, all i'm saying is that i'm very happy with them and if you want a $25 sign-up bonus (with initial $250 deposit), let me know...you get $25 and i get $10

/shameless plug for ing and $10 bonus for me
