So, my theory is this: The influx of tons of northerners to the area is inflating the real estate market as well as the general cost of living in the area. They are selling small modest homes up north, for huge amounts of money due to the inflated real estate markets of the north. Then, they come down here and use the huge amounts of money to buy reasonable homes here but at the same time are inflating the market here because they are buying homes for higher prices. The market here is beginning to realize that they can sell for higher than usual. SO, basically local residents like myself on a modest income are becoming more n more unable to afford a home in this area. Also, the overall cost of living keeps going up.

move to the 'burbs. There are still plenty of reasonably priced houses in the county, and even in Raleigh and Cary city limits.

If you own a house already, you gotta love this. However, its harder for southerns to move into the area..so you see more and more yankees...

BTW, why do all those damn yankees seem so pissed to be in the south? Its not like we wanted them to come down, and if the north is SOOO much better how come you dont see us going up there in droves? Sorry for the rant

i mean, everybody has some complaints about certain aspects of wherever you live, but i haven't heard a northerner say anything like "damn the south, i wish all these rednecks would go away"
