I tried to bttt the last postings about Austin but it had been idle for to long. But I had a question for people that have been here.I just moved to Austin and was wondering for those of you that live here or have visited often does anyone know where there might be a bar or restaurant that shows ACC (and more specifically NC State games)? Everywhere I go places obviously show Longhorn games, but I was just wondering if there might be an ACC bar somewhere in town. If not for football games at least for basketball season. Any help would be great.

I have never been to Austin, but I would guess sports bars, just like every other city in the country. Call and ask if you aren't sure, and see if there is an area alumni chapter that has gamewatches if you are into that sort of thing.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Been in Austin a year and can't find a NCSU game on tv to save my life.

1) go to bar (preferably not a team-specific bar on game-night)2) ask the bartender to switch one of the TVs to your game. . . 4) profit

Thats a decent sized city, there should be an ACC sports bar somewhere. Search the internet or yellow pages, or both.

There's always DirecTV, too. I lived in WV for 9 months and hated not being in ACC land. Also, this ain't Austin, but...http://www.alumni.ncsu.edu/clubs/club.php?cg=national&id=35http://www.alumni.ncsu.edu/clubs/club.php?cg=national&id=3

It sometimes helps if you know what channel the game will be on too. All of our televised games for basketball should be on Fox Sports, ESPN/2/U, or ESPN Full Court, which will carry all of the Raycom/LF games in Texas unlike in ACC territory, where your only remedy is ACCSelect.com.

Little off topic since I haven't found any ACC yet, but I'm in Austin for a couple more weeks for work. Anything exciting/out of the ordinary going on the next couple weeks? Bikini's was a nice sports bar and with the number of tvs I'm sure they could put an ACC game on. I liked Bone Daddy's even better though, and spent about 5 hours there Sunday for some NFL Whitney is the shit

I checked for Alumni groups in the area and the only ones in Texas that I have found are in Dallas and Houston. I have thought about just going to bars and asking for the game, but I was wondering if there was a place that people gathered to see the games or if the games were on at certain bars. Last year when I was up in New York City I could always go up to Brother Jimmies and they would have State games on. They also had a special deal to get all the Raycom/JP games. I don't think I would be so lucky as to get the Raycom games down here, but still. I liked going to BJ's b/c there was always at least one or two State fans there as well. Wouldn't mind finding a place like that down here in Austin.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 2:45 PM. Reason : .]

Any bar with ESPN Full Court (outside the ACC market) will have all of the Raycom games.
