A friend of mine has been an installer for a while now at a major store (zxappeal knows him) and can do

decks
subs + amp
car alarms
speakers and 4 channel amps
remote starts
flip down DVD's
dynamat
Radar detector hardwires
Satellite radio receivers

Basically most of the stuff that customs shops can do. On his own personal car for example he has an aftermarket engine management system (MAP ECU) running on a laptop, displayed through an in-dash DVD and controlled by mini keyboard/touchpad on his sun visor.

He will beat the labor price of just about any shop. You will generally have to supply the parts. PM me or post up if there is any interest. I might get him to make a TWW name if a significant number of people need work done.

i have a deck that needs to go in a 02 pathfinder...already has an aftermarket deck in it so it shouldn't be too much trouble. also have some alternator whine coming out of one of my tweeters...probably just a bad ground but i'm too lazy to fix it.

how much would he charge to put the deck in...and how much to troubleshoot that whine?

Yeah, I know the guy. And yeah, I'll vouch for him. And he's better than damn near any high-schooler I've ever met.

He's done more work for a shop than you've shitted turds in your diapers as a child.

you make it sound like it a damn mars probe or something, its not that big of a deal, hell he probably got it as a plug and play system, but what is the damn point? without dyno feedback and hard numbers, you cant do tuning driving down the damn road, and even then its a distraction, all you need is a data logger and its not that difficult to plug in a laptop for a few minutes to take a look at all of it while you're tuning, seems like a major waste of time and money to me

^^, ^^^^ need i mention this thread Dan? /message_topic.aspx?topic=333294

can't say i've ever heard the guy make an intelligent comment, so him pluggin someone else isnt a real good advertisement

def. a waste for anything short of a race car.

IF i was going to pay anyone on here to do custom audio work for me it would be daryl or brian. trouble is, ive never paid anyone to do any audio work for me. I wouldnt let daryl put a turbo on my car though and i doubt brian is doing any car work. so im all set.

^^Dude, I can tell you this: Ray's come a long way, and he's not afraid to admit that there's a lot he doesn't know.

Does it matter at all that I'll plug his buddy as well?

And considering what all that car is putting to the ground, I wouldn't mind having that setup. His piggyback S-AFC was DEFINITELY not quite cutting it. This car makes Duke's old Miata seem ox-cart slow.
