yeah i used to work at subway. at the time there were only 3-5 (i think 3) that weren't jordanian (palestenian) owned. (edit: in this state)

i was the manager (haha) and every morning at 8 when i came in, i HAD to play "the tape"

like koran on tape or something, bunch of chanting. owner freaked out if it wasnt on at 830 when he got in. sometimes when i worked nights i dropped the tape in the safe with the final deposit so the morning kids couldnt find it. ha ha

yeah gloveko what i said was really true, at least from what the store owner told me. the arabic speaking folks were trying very hard to gain control of the last 3 american owned stores in the state

i actually speak a bit of arabic. i know how to call someone a donkey(Iehjach(sp)), and i know... hemar kabir(sp)

so like all the subways have bilingual people there, and theres usually no english spoken once you get out of customer earshot.

whatever it was, i know my old boss used to teach me/call me funny names in arabic. they have obviously mixed up a bit over 12 years. thats why i listed them out, to see if i was even saying them right. never seen them spelled

oh and what i said about all the subways being owned by MESOPOTAMIANS

yeah, spelling Arabic words using the English Alphabet is very difficult...it stomps me all the time. You have to use things like '3' to represent certain letters that don't exists in the English alphabet.
