U.S. Sen. Barack Obama will host a presidential campaign fundraiser at N.C. Central University on Nov. 1.The event, part of the Democratic presidential candidate's "Countdown to Change" initiative, is "the Obama campaign's latest effort to allow grassroots supporters to contribute to the success of the campaign," according to the Obama campaign."Countdown to Change" will partner the campaign's successful, large-scale kickoff events featuring Senator Obama with smaller, supporter-driven events where individuals will invite their friends and neighbors to help with campaign efforts in early states like Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina," the Obama camp said.Obama will headline seven "Countdown to Change" events in cities across the country in October. The Durham event will be at the Leroy T. Walker Complex, 1801 Fayetteville St., on the NCCU campus. Doors will open at 4 p.m.Those wishing to see the presidential contender will need to pay $25 for general admission, or $15 for students. Reservations are being handled at http://my.barackobama.com/C2CNC ** TIm looking forward to seeing him in person and hearing more of his platform, b/c for me it's basically going to come down to whether I want Barack or Hillary in the White House in Nov. 2008. Since 85% of NCCU's campus voted in the Presidential Election in Nov. 2004, it's a VERY SMART Move for Mr. Obama to come to Durham to the Bull City to fund-raise. It will definitely be $15 bucks well spent!**

ask his opinion on the lacrosse case
10/12/2007 10:19:46 PM
BigMan157, Id actually be quite interested in getting his thoughts on the Duke Lacrosse Case, American corporations moving over seas, his thoughts on health care, and being in grad school-Im interested in knowing what his plans are for the escalating higher education costs over the last decade and what he plans on doing to alleviate that trend-should be an informative event.
10/12/2007 10:53:07 PM
fuck that nig.
10/12/2007 10:54:04 PM
Um... what form of logical thought dictates going to NCCU?Why not State, or Chapel Hill, or some place in the state of NC that matters?
10/12/2007 10:54:16 PM
is it 15 if you are a student anywhere in nc or just nccu?
10/12/2007 10:54:53 PM
Its $15 dollars if you are a student at any of the 16 NC colleges/universities. Tromboner you clearly dont read the news or know nothing of your geography b/c if you did you'd know that Durham County is EXTREMELY Democratic, and secondly during the Nov. 2004 out of NCCU's student population of 8300 students, over 7,000 of them went to the polls and were registered Democrats. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out why he is doing to Durham County for a speech and Presidential Fundraiser-if you cant figure it out maybe you shouldn't be enrolled at NCSU bud!!
10/12/2007 11:21:51 PM
nccu student should not be allowed to vote.
10/12/2007 11:23:36 PM
10/12/2007 11:24:56 PM
Something tells me Obama won't carry NC. Not sure what it is... call it a hunch.
10/12/2007 11:25:24 PM
me and stillfurshia are going on our first date to this thing
10/12/2007 11:25:53 PM
Beardawg61, I wonder how well you would do running for local office here in NC.....IM guessing it wouldnt be too well-lets call it a hunch!
10/12/2007 11:27:14 PM
it sucks to live in nc if you think a democrat would do a better job than a repub
10/12/2007 11:28:01 PM
Take her to Maggiano's Italian restaurant, which is en route to NCCU's campus
10/12/2007 11:28:22 PM
10/12/2007 11:28:28 PM
Let's also call it a hunch that my part of NC is somewhat different than Durham.
10/12/2007 11:29:07 PM
Beardawg you make it sound as if Obama doesnt have a plethora of White voters...the bulk of my white friends(and half of those are republicans-are actually heading to this speech of his b/c alot of them are on the fence between him and Guiliani)-so yes maybe in 'your' part of NC..but thankfully the bulk of NC isn't 100% hickville!
10/12/2007 11:34:13 PM
motion to move to soap boxHaha just kidding
10/12/2007 11:36:29 PM
10/12/2007 11:46:21 PM
more like too bad like 1/3 of the US is hickville
10/12/2007 11:48:00 PM
why the fucking hell is he campaigning at N.C. Central? He already has every black vote in the countryWhat he needs is the support of white people
10/13/2007 12:00:18 AM
10/13/2007 12:02:09 AM
last i heard in SC, hillary had like 55 percent of the black vote
10/13/2007 12:02:49 AM
Yeah Jeffrey BSG....you forget alot of African Americans are extremely fans of Clinton's husband...so Obama has a lot to prove in their eyes, beyond just his relation to them in skin tone.
10/13/2007 12:08:35 AM
10/13/2007 12:10:19 AM
^^,^^^,^^^^I stand correctedI just sorta figured that all black people would vote for a black candidatethat must be why I have a Master's Degree in mathematics and an IQ of 154V[Edited on October 13, 2007 at 12:12 AM. Reason : /]
10/13/2007 12:10:31 AM
you sir, are a goddamned moron
10/13/2007 12:11:25 AM
For whatever reason, the general black populace has an affinity for the name Clinton.
10/13/2007 12:11:30 AM
I dont have to make it about race bud-but since Race IS something that American people seem to notice why not talk about it-"most" of us in this chat room are adults. "Yeah Jeffrey BSG", I have to agree with the comment below yours..that's like saying every White person loves Bush-do you hear how retarded that sounds??" Seriously..dude
10/13/2007 12:14:22 AM
10/13/2007 12:15:54 AM
^Hmm... by that logic, white people have been on top of the government since the country's foundation, therefore they must want to stay on top by voting for a white guy...See how silly assumptions sound?
10/13/2007 12:17:56 AM
I HAVE AN IQ OF 154I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUSno one gives a camel's dick what your IQ is. you're coming off like a fetal alcohol syndrome baby in here, chief
10/13/2007 12:18:08 AM
I'm just saying, you can levy a lot of criticisms against me, faulty logic is probably one of thembut "moron" isn't[Edited on October 13, 2007 at 12:20 AM. Reason : /]
10/13/2007 12:20:11 AM

10/13/2007 12:53:00 AM
be sure to tape it in case something happends you can put it on youtube and then show us the video here. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot about barack since he's comin to nc. wonder why he picked nccu though.
10/13/2007 1:07:42 AM
i just figured since it was a black school
10/13/2007 1:15:41 AM
maybe they INVITED him??NO WAY[Edited on October 13, 2007 at 1:17 AM. Reason : .]
10/13/2007 1:17:34 AM
I want to talk to him just so I can tell him I support him over Edwards. And then with Clinton he doesn't have much competition in my mind. And this all makes me sad that he's still going to loose.
10/13/2007 2:17:43 AM
^Hopefully he'll get the moderate/independent vote (including myself) from people in states that hold open primaries (including NC)... But that's just wishful thinking and is almost guaranteed not to happen. Mostly because moderates rarely vote in the primaries.
10/13/2007 2:20:30 AM
10/13/2007 2:32:16 AM
nccu students will just call him an oreo
10/13/2007 2:58:17 AM
^^^ what's the dealio with the NC primaries? Is it too late to register? when do they happen?I wouldn't mind voting against Hillary more than once if possible.
10/13/2007 3:18:55 AM
fuck obama. won't even wear an American Flag Lapel on his coat. American hatin motherfucker
10/13/2007 7:49:44 AM
No NCCU Students will wait to hear him speak, and see his agenda in person and make are decision after the fact. Plus, the fact that he is half white and half black has no bearings on if he is a sound leader of the United States of America. Not wearing the pin thing is a mute point. One can be patriotic, and still hate the president of the U.S (aka my stance on GW), wearing a flag on one's chest doesnt prove one thing more then the otehr. Oh GOD, I dont drive around with an NCSU sticker on my car so I must be less die hard of a State fan...give me a fucking break! IM the only person in the triangle who wears their flag on their car when our football team is 1-11, or 9-2. I foresee Obama's speech at NCCU more ground breaking then Edward's speech at NCSU in 2004. Im looking forward to hearing Mr. Obama speak!
10/15/2007 1:55:19 PM
lol anything is more ground breaking than that
10/15/2007 1:56:56 PM
DON'T TASE ME, BRO!
10/15/2007 1:57:06 PM
10/15/2007 1:59:00 PM
