So we don't get gay threads for every team imaginable and every game imaginable.

This bitch is official without the word official and the *'s. So I say.

-----

Anyway, some Bay Area news to start it off. Baron says he is in the best shape of his professional life this year and fully expects himself to be more durable. Azebuke is shaping up to be the #2 as Nelly sees Monta as more of a 1 for obvious reasons. And finally Dumbo *ahem* Brandon Wright is likely headed to the D League to start off.

the nba is back. so many stars, so many contenders. just sucks oden got hurt.

heres a rundown of great teams

favorites-
spurs-same ole same ole
suns-same ole same ole. they've been unlucky in the playoffs the last 3 years

celtics?-no team has a better big 3 but what will the rest of the team be able to add? and will the big 3 stay healthy? chemistry?

level 2-contendors
wizards-healthy. 2 great players and 1 agent zero. remember they lead the east last season before injuries
mavs-redemption? they were one of the best regular season teams ever last year
jazz-wow williams,boozer, kirelenko
heat-healthy again and still loaded
rockets-final minute game 7 loss to the jazz last year. added franchise
pistons-looking for redemption. still a great team

cavs?-well they did it last year
denver?-2 of the best scorers alive. getting the spurs first round is never a good measure
bulls?great d solid o but can they get to that next level?

level 3-darkhorse contendors
magic-lewis and horward could make noise
raptors-they had a great year last year. ford healthy?
nets-kidd jefferson and carter. if they can get good frontline play nuff said

clippers?-terrible year last year but this is a talented team

level 4-watchout for makking the playoffs
lakers-will they make a trade?
grizz-added darko now its a tough frontline
hornets-west peja paul are good pieces
bobcats-solid team add qrich and they should make the playoffs

kings?-you never know with bibby artest and now martin rising up
bucks?-great guards. will yi be something special?
knicks?-you never know how thing could work out with randolph out there.

teams with more than 1 star
suns3
spurs3
rockets2
nuggets2
jazz2
heat2
celtics3
pistons
magic?if you consider lewis a star

i dont think theres ever been this many young stars in the game either

[Edited on October 12, 2007 at 5:18 PM. Reason : durant will be interesting to watch. wathout for the hawks too with horford and joe]

[Edited on October 12, 2007 at 5:20 PM. Reason : wizards bulls oops]

i hope you dont expect there to be zero team threads b/c of this thread, that would be ridiculous

anyway, on that note, go Rockets

Quote :

more importantly, added scola and added Wells by adding Adelman. Wells actually gets along with Adelman. Now, unfortunately, Adelman has a history of playoff chokes, but maybe he can get us out of the 1rst round before this years edition.

I'd be VERY surprised if the Kings make the playoffs. The West is pretty much "Murderer's Row." Plus, they have a first-year coach in Theus. But hey, you never know.

Man, the Cavs will take a step back this year b/c of Pavlovic and Varajeo holding out right now. I heard Varajeo pretty much wants $9 mil., and he's definitely not worth that much. He's pretty much the foreign version of Jeff Foster, an energy player that's good on the boards, but the skill set is limited.

I think the big question is if the Cavs don't make the playoffs or get any more substanial help for LBJ, does the "King" leave Cleveland at the end of the day?

Lebron won't leave Cleveland; I mean he is their franchise player and he is still young; plenty of chances to win a championship there.

Billy King, Sixer's GM and president, finally got fired this week. Praise the good Lord, I fucking hate that bastard. He single handedly ruined the sixers. Glen Robinson, Chris Webber, Kyle Korver, way to go there buddy.

On a related note Iverson has been tearing shit up lately.

51pts, 8 ast Wed vs. the Lakers. 35 pts, 12ast, 6 stl vs the Mavs on Thursday.

Fuck Billy King, and fire George Karl's dumb UNC graduate ass and get a real coach that can motivate his players.

The 4th quarter of that Lakers / Warriors game was off the hook. Too bad that Kobe hurt his leg, otherwise the finish would have been even better.

The all access thing about the Bobcats was pretty cool. Adam Morrison needs to visit a damn barber. You play in the NBA dude, stop looking like you walked to the coliseum from the trailer park.

using the pump fake ON A JUMP SHOT, then jumping into the defender and initiating contact should NEVER be a defensive foul.

kudos to billups for doing it tonight. very smart play. but i hate the call

If I make a defender bite on pump fake and he's left his feet....I go to shoot and there's excessive contact. the defender is at fault because he's left his feet. That's generally a foul.

Suns don't look quite as good this year. I think they are built better for the playoffs with the addition of Hill. But they dont seem to be running teams out of the building everynight like the last two years.

you know whats funny

all other talent aside

the Sonics, WITH DURANT, have the worst record in the west

the Blazers, WITHOUT ODEN, have won 17 of their last 18 and currently would have homecourt in the first round of the playoffs (top 4 seed)

lets try another one

the Pistons couldve drafted Carmelo a couple years ago but they drafted Darko

the Nuggets got eliminated in the 1st round and Darko didnt even play while the Pistons won a title
