10/11/2007 4:03:06 PM
inflamation and mental health are my main reasonsHowever, there are many more benefits
10/11/2007 4:10:06 PM
can u tell a difference? mental health? i dont get that. what do they do for mental health?
10/11/2007 4:10:52 PM
There is lots of research on it. Google the two.Yes, I do. However, I started supplementing it along the same time I drastically changed my diet, started getting serious about training (physical exercise), and started taking sleep more seriously. I notice a night and day difference overall. I do notice, that when i neglect the fish oil, I am more sore.[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 4:16 PM. Reason : i'm not sure I would notice a lapse of a few days in mental health--it's a more macro thing]

10/11/2007 4:57:56 PM
About a 1000mg each.I forget the epa, dha, and cla amounts, but they are high compared to the avg.I'll give the freezing a try.[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:03 PM. Reason : eww, would not drink, yet. ]

That's well above what you should be taking.Wiki:The AI (acceptable intake) for n-3 is 1.6 grams/day for men and 1.1 grams/day for womenThe FDA recommends that total dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids from fish not exceed 3 grams per day, of which no more than 2 grams per day are from nutritional supplements. The National Institutes of Health recently published recommended daily intakes of fatty acids, specific recommendations include 650 mg of EPA and DHA, 2.22 g/day of alpha-linolenic acid.
10/11/2007 5:06:35 PM
normally that dosage is of the dha and epa combined, but you can still go beyond.
10/11/2007 5:10:00 PM
Oh wow do you take the Omacor rx capsules or otc?
10/11/2007 5:13:53 PM
Sure, you can take a whole handful of them I suppose. As to how heathful or safe that is remains uncertain, but studies show benefits are obtained at much lower levels than you're taking.
10/11/2007 5:15:05 PM
otcSTUDIES ALL TALK ABOUT DHA AND EPA MG LEVELS.Active individuals generally require more. All my docs adn psch have been ok with this. My blood work supports what I'm doing is working.[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:18 PM. Reason : ]

where do you get off giving advise about nutrition ?[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:20 PM. Reason : ][Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:21 PM. Reason : those will probably end up being sweet teas]
10/11/2007 5:19:28 PM
if you have shell fish allergy is it bad to take those?
10/11/2007 5:22:29 PM
it messes w/ my stomach thats why i can't handle it, but i'm sure it works well. Yeh omacor is the only fda approved Fish Oil b/c regular supplements aren't. I think Omacor changed its name though recently.
10/11/2007 5:22:36 PM
That isn't me. Why the hostility?
10/11/2007 5:22:54 PM
There isn't any, really.Just intarnet banter[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:26 PM. Reason : are those sweet teas?][Edited on October 11, 2007 at 5:39 PM. Reason : ]

i take my from a bottle - no fish burbs (and it is orange flavored - actually not bad at all, no fishy taste whatsoever)
10/11/2007 7:36:27 PM
I thought maybe this was a thread relating to sushi. Because last Saturday night, even as I was going to bed like 6 hours after dinner, I was burping fish/soy flavors.
