aside from your #1 college:

#1 - Tennessee

Others:
NC State (work, grad school, always liked them before that because I hated UNC)
Illinois (Mendenhall is my boy, Zook!, hate the rest of the Big 10)
Bama (dads from there, grew up a Bama fan)
Georgia Tech (almost went to college there, loved Jon Barry growing up, hate Georgia)

#1 - NCSU

Wake Forest (grew up in Winston)
Tennessee (wanted to go there, went to a few of their games, wake didn't have a great football team, had a cool Tennessee Starter coat)

#1 NCSU

Others: UK. Both parents and a sister went there. Was born while my father was still in medical school at Kentucky. Moved from Lexington at 6 years old, to NC. The play room in the house I grew up in (where the big TV and the bar is) is like a shrine to Wildcat basketball.

Seton Hall - My mom and aunt went there. My aunt is the women's basketball coach there, too.

Also, I grew up going to men's and women's basketball games at SHU. Good times.

#1 - NCSU

Texas A&M - I'm enthralled with Kyle Field and the tradition there (Desperately want to visit)
Auburn - A friend of mine always pulled for them, so I often watched thier games when I was younger
Clemson - Kind of a replica of NC State university-wise. Family had a home on Lake Hartwell (~15 mins) when I was younger and went to many games there. Cannot pull for them as long as Tammy Bowden is thier coach, though.

#1 NCST

Others:

Virginia - family thing, my dad and his brothers all went to UVA, so there's a strong family connection to it. I don't go out of my way to cheer for them, but i do cheer when i see them on tv
Houston - again, strong family history there. two of my grandparents, an uncle, and two of my cousins attended there.

#2 - Best friend growing up was from a VT family, and have always had an awesome experience with VT fans. I see them as the NCSU of Virginia.

#1 NCSU of course.

after that its a tie for second with UNC-Charlotte and Syracuse. Syracuse because my whole family is from upstate NY and it was about the only college my dad grew up rooting for. Charlotte because I grew up <10 minutes from their campus and thus went to tons of soccer and basketball games for them growing up (including road ones)

NC State - #1 always

Illinois - originally from illinois and had some family go to school there.

Cal - grew up some in California and had a really good friend go there, actually got to go see a game a couple of years ago. Awesome experience 'cept they fucking lost to Oregon State.

ECU - finished school there and they indoctrinated me at least into liking to see them do well.

all other schools can go to hell.

NC State #1 - Went to NCSU. Grew up in Raleigh going to all the games at C-F. The Sheridan years seem like the Glory Days.

Miami #2 - Go to grad school at UM and may end up staying in the area. Lots of interesting history.

Louisville #3- Parents went to school there, dad was there during Lee Corso years

LSU #4- Almost went to school there. One hell of a football experience and I love crawfish.

#1 - NCSU

Manhattan College (Dad graduated from there--no football but they occasionally have a good basketball team)
VaTech (Almost went to school there, agree with BobbyDigital's comment of "the NCSU of Virginia)
Penn State (I am a fan of JoePa)

#1 Navy - I went there

NCSU - my brother went to State. When I was stationed in Norfolk, I spent as many weekends as possible in Raleigh with my bro and his buddies at State. I figure I've been to 30+ football/basketball games over the years. When I lived in San Diego, I came back East for christmas and packed a road trip to the Tangerine Bowl to watch Phil's last football game at State.

-NC State, Purdue, ECU some (although not when they're playing NC State)
-Army and Navy
-anyone playing North Carolina or Indiana
-any Division I-AA, Sun Belt, or MAC team playing a BCS school, provided they're not playing NC State or Purdue
-any school playing a team that if that team lose will royally f*** up the BCS and the national title game having a nice, easy decision on who will play; I'm best described as a college football anarchist

1. NCSU - dad, me, my sister, and 2 bro-in-laws all graduated from here - die hard since I came out of the womb
2. Clemson - so similar to State, plus many friends that go/went there and been down there numerous times - great gameday experience
3. UNCW - born, raised, and live here now...kinda wish Brett Blizzard was still around though

#1 - LSU. Can't be from Louisiana and not like em.... well you can but it's weird.

others:

NC State - just always liked em. Never was crazy about UNC or Duke.
Michigan - Three family members graduated from there, a fourth worked there.
UCLA - Was my dream school in HS, but I didn't get my app in to them in time. Otherwise they'd have probably been #1
Morehouse (Atlanta) - College I went to for 1 1/2 years
Navy - I enlisted in '01, and was in NROTC while at Morehouse. BEAT ARMY
New Orleans - College I've attended since '04.

#1) NC State - no explanation needed
#2a) Michigan - always pulled for them in everything (hockey, football, basketball) when I was a little kid. dreamed of going there, but decided not to apply b/c of distance and cost. I was the only one in my family pulling for Michigan to beat UNC in 1993 National Championship game.
#2b) Tennessee - nearly went there. went to Knoxville a lot when I was younger. my final two schools came down to State and Tennessee. chose State b/c of in-state tuition and i didn't know how much money in scholarships and financial aid i would get.

#1 NCSU

Wisconsin- have two friends there; besides i hate the Ohio State so the badgers are a natural ally given the old adage that your enemies enemy is your friend.

Appalachian- Both parents went there, sister goes there, have friends there, and have pride in a team in our state that won the football championship granted it was I-AA.

Meredith- Undefeated Football team since 1947

#2 FSU - parents went there and i was raised as a fan. cheer for them as long as they're not playing NCSU or after they beat us. it takes me a good while to like them again.

#3 ANYONE PLAYING UNC - fuck the heels

#4 NAVY - grew up as a navy dependant with several of those years on bases.

#5 USF - definitly not going to call myself a fan but my step-father went there and i'm happy to see them do well.

# 1 NC STATE Born and bred. I have been attending games since I can remember. I wish I could say grad, still working on that.

# 2 Tennessee I almost went there too. Surprised at how many have said this so far. Out of state tuition is a bitch and I wasn't getting enough scholly/money to go there. (How come none of these "fans" post in the threads or talk about UT? I try to. Lofton is the man!)

# 3 Appalachian State - lots of family/friends went/go there. I hate the hatred that is going on now between the two and it really is stupid since the schools are on 2 different levels.

# 4 Davidson - some family went, taught, go there. I nearly went there also and am proud to say that I was accepted. Tough ass school, doubt I would have made it there since I am not too academically minded.

#1.) NC State - When I was in 3rd grade I put my loyalty into NCSU and stuck with them ever since. I can honestly say that I am attending the school I always wanted to go to.

#2.) Virginia Tech - Almost all of my father's side of the family has attended Virginia Tech except for him. All of them are die hard Hokies and I have been to several games up there. Their campus is amazing.

#3.) Miami/LSU - My mom is 1 of 5 siblings. While she went to Greensboro College on merit scholarship she had her brother and sister attend the University of Miami and both get degrees in international business while her other 2 sisters attended LSU to get degrees in business and industrial engineering. Everyone should at least go to Coral Gables to see the U and go meet Mike the Tiger at the Vet College at LSU!

#4.) Tulane University - The sister that attended Miami on my mothers side also went on to get her MBA at LSU and the go to law school at Tulane. It is a very nice and little school, reminds me a lot of Wake Forest.
