Los Cazadores has a good vegetarian menu.
Pearl can make anything with just veggies or tofu.
Neomonde rules.
any pizza place will have meatless pizzas, eggplant parm.
subway has a veggie burger. so does burger king.
french fry wrap at the wing place in mission valley...hold the bacon.
etc etc

^ I've always wanted to go there, but I've never been able to get anyone to go with me.

There's also Baja Burrito in Mission Valley and Moe's in Cameron Village if you're looking for faster than sit-down and like Mexican.

<3 Neomonde.

There's a place in Mission Valley that has Thai, I think. I can't remember what it's called, but it's on the top level and I believe it's Thai and some other kind of Asian cuisine together. It's good.

if you mean dalat, it's vietnamese, not thai

[Edited on October 3, 2007 at 9:06 PM. Reason : the ethiopian place isn't bad--if you like ethiopian]

i wouldn't take anybody you plan on seeing to the ethiopian place, they're going to wonder what's wrong with you - it's terrible, unless you enjoy food without taste, texture, or color, then it could be good i guess

neomonde or dalat would be good choices

^ eh wrong?

The Ethiopian place is good and comparable to other places ive been outside of the south. My bro is actually in Ethiopia right now and said the one in mission valley is pretty authentic.

Neomonde is one of my favorite places and has all kinds of non-meat options. (I am not a vegetarian but I've had several meatless meals there myself...)

I've only been to Dalat once, but it was pretty good. I don't know for certain whether or not they do take-out though.

Closest Thai place I can think of is Sushi Thai in that shopping center off Lake Boone.

^Neomonde's falafel is gross. That place is awesome for everything else, best hummus in Raleigh. Nur Deli in Mission Valley is the only good falafel in Raleigh.

I can't believe no one mentioned Royal India. The one on Capital is the best, but there is also one on Glenwood. Food is awesome, but service sucks at the Glenwood one.

I also second Lilly's pizza. Tofu salad, pizza made on whole wheat crust, stuffed peppers, man I'm getting hungry. They have the best salads in Raleigh, btw.

I have not tried any, but Neomonde's is not the only middle eastern place near campus. In Mission Valley, there is a restaurant/market with Jerusalem in the name. (I can't remember the rest, b/c I get it confused with my dad's place in Greensboro, which is Jerusalem Market.) But they have different meals and things, along with a small grocery in the back with olives and all types of things.

IF you can make it over to crossroads, go to sweet tomatoes, salad bar overload ftw.

^^Sweet Tomatoes is overpriced and their food is just slightly better than Golden Corral. Jason's Deli has a much better salad buffet. Heck, even Ruby Tuesday's salad bar is better than Sweet Tomatoes.

Yeah, Jason's Deli is amazing. But there isn't one too close, or at least not one that I know of.

Charley's on Hillsborough has a good grilled veggie sub, but that's the only vegetarian choice.

Royal India on Capital ftw

I used to go there so much that they still know me and my order when I come in now

Best take out for people who don't eat much meat?

I'd say probably meat, since they aren't getting enough of it.

bear rock has a bitchin' veggie sandwich on sunflower bread, with sun-dried tomato spread; lots of asian places; mellow mushroom; lily's; whole foods salad/hot bar; sweet tomatoes; cafe carolina's greek salad is awesome...

neomonde is really greasy and not very healthy, but delicious if you love explosive diarrhea and nasty ass baba ghannouj. it tastes like old shoes.

for thai:

i always go to Viva Thai at the corner of chatham and maynard.

head down western blvd toward k-mart, keep going, go past wolf creek and all that shit

right near the railroad tracks on maynard, you'll see a shopping center

it's right in there

that shit is gooood. i go there at LEAST once a week.

red dragon (right by the corner of fairview and oberlin) --- NOT to be confused with golden dragon.

also, neomonde is recommended. i just ate at jasmin's on hillsborough (the new place where raleigh joe's/q shack used to be) and i was very pleasantly surprised.
