yeah, that used to happen a lot

depends on what you're doing at the time

when you're going and looking at houses and shit like that, it's the usual assumption

(thank god I didn't marry that trollop)

It makes sense in Key West: "OH! Are you two on your honeymoon?"

At the dentist...not so much

I have no significant other, but a few times me and a female friend have been mistaken for that.

^ & ^^ ditto. Kinda annoying sometimes... particularly at nice restaurants - whats wrong with taking a friend of the opposite sex out for a nice dinner instead of just pizza?

All the fucking time. Especially in this new house. Some neighbor or repair man, or mailman, or traditional folk will go "I spoke to your husband...." or "Is you husband around?" or "Yeah your husband was telling me..."

I'm like but I let it pass.

On trips (charleston, beach, mountains, dc), going to look at houses/condo's, car shopping, furniture shopping, out to dinner, esp at hotels on trips, and going to pick up christmas trees in the mountains.

Oh, and also just out shopping.

and once at the movies

oh, and once stopping in a small coastal town, we stopped in a shop, waiting to be seated at a resturant. The owner assumed we were in the area thinking about moving there.

Well, he really only did that once, and the guy he said it to has made fun of him a lot for it.

Every someone mentions me being her husband or her being my wife, I never really say anything, but she always just gets the biggest grin.

I wonder if that's a sign as to what her intentions are?

I guess not.

I've never understood why not.

I honestly don't know which of us gets a bigger kick out of it. I usually correct them, and he rarely does.
