I have a Dell 1700n networkable b&w laser printer. It rocks. It's fast and very cost effective. My costs are right at $0.01 per page. My HP inkjet runs ~$0.18 per page.If I had to buy a new printer tomorrow, I would get the Dell 1720dn. It's faster, networkable, and full duplex all for less that $300.00.[Edited on October 3, 2007 at 3:05 PM. Reason : not currently on sale]

At work I have 1700s, 1710s, 3110s, and a shitload more. All of our lasers are now Dells. I would suggest the 1710 and the 3110. Both are very nice and the ease of installing cartridges in the 3110 is fucking nice.

Pretty sure lexmark still makes them. Dell's always said that they'd build them only if it made sense to do so. I haven't heard anything more recent than 2002 or so about it though, so that could have changed. Anyways, if you're looking at a dell laser printer I'd say go for it. If you're looking at a Dell inkjet printer I'd have to ask "why are you looking at an inkjet printer?"
