My current university does not have any of the great feature(s) of the NCSU homepage + TWW. Things like no student directory, no message boards, no classifieds, no sports calendar have drawn the last straw. SO, since I'm building a new site anyway, what features do you use most often on the NCSU homepage and TWW? Thanks!

School tool would be VERY hard. Nothing here is done on a computer - to change a class there are 3 pieces of paper and 3-5 people involved for signatures. FREAKING HASSLE. Webmail we have, IMAP support, but no SMTP. Emergency notification platform here is TOP NOTCH. Anything happens there is a system that sounds a horn (think tornado warning), calls every land line on campus, SMS messages every students cell phone (giving your number was part of the enrollment requirements), and e-mails every student & faculty address. All in under 6 seconds. AWESOME.

Although, a second webmail system would be interesting... or do you mean something like the PM system?

my gf goes there, i pretty much agree with everybody else. also, a warning that anyone with long hair who visits will be hassled, the past couple times i've visited, they tried to arrest me .

Yea, really. Totally been disappointed in that respect. However, an average class size of 6 is reaping incredible rewards. Professors are giving me phone numbers of internships and stuff.

And the free golf ROCKS.

rtc, who's your girlfriend - there's only 1600 day students, we've probably met at least once.

As for the comments on technology... their firewall here is CRAZY GOOD. My software firewall has had around 5 blocked requests in like 2 months. No outbound traffic except signed AIM & HTTP requests, no inbound except 21,80, and AIM. They block *most* HTTP & SOCKS proxies, and have an excellent IT staff. Computers are fast & nice, but nothing bigger than a 17" screen (how the crap we're supposed to do lightwave, photoshop & dreamweaver on the low res. hunks of junk I have no idea.)
