I can never let my insurance lapse because it will be really expensive

I made a huge mistake by letting my insurance coverage lapse. I had a month to go before my husband's insurance picked me up and I ended up in the emergency room twice in one day. The first time for kidney stones and the second time for an allergic reaction to the vicodin that they prescribed. That day cost well over $6,000 without insurance coverage.

letting your insurance coverage lapse is not a good ideaif you let it lapse, whoever you get insurance from in the future can see your medical recordsif you don't let it, they can't... cheaper insurance.

Kids nowadays are spoiled with the whole staying on your parents insurance until you're 26 (or whatever age).I've had insurance for maybe like two years total out of all my adulthood and most of that time was shitty high deductible insurance. Luckily I haven't had any emergencies or else I'd have had to go bankrupt or something. Should be okay going forward because I started a career job in a field with low unemployment though.
