Where do you guys get them? The cooking kind, not the smoking kind, where do you guys get 'em? I used to get them from my neighbor but she moved and the cunt that bought the house wont let me in the garden.

Farmer's market...anything at the grocery store labeled "fresh" is no where near as fresh as anything at the farmer's market

the herbs at the grocery run about $2 a package, not sure of the weight but enough for at least a couple recipes...and in reality it's tough put them down on the basis of freshness

But of course, support the farmers market if possible. I know there is usually at least an herb grower or two on the weekends with potted herbs, but I'm not sure how much variety you will find as far as cut herbs.

I've used grocery store fresh herbs before and they served the purpose, but ones you grow yourself are much better.

things that are a good investment to buy and grow yourself - thyme, rosemary, basil, and oregano... you can do mint if you use it all that often but that stuff can easily take over your garden so be careful. Buy the plants at the farmer's market and go from there... basil grows really quick too.

otherwise it's perfectly acceptable to go to the store and buy it... keep it in the fridge wrapped up (not too tight) in a damp paper towel and it'll last a good while. or you can just cut the ends and keep them in a vase in the fridge (I dont have the room for that though).

good luck!

oh and i get my herbs from wherever i shop from if I'm getting them from a store... HT, trader joes, whole foods, wherever.

Yup.

I'm gonna try growing them indoors this winter. I was spoiled this summer
