i really think we're injury cursed...

does that even put him out for the beginning of '08?
9/23/2007 4:41:14 PM
Yes. Plus, limited practice. He won't be ready for ACC ball in january.
9/23/2007 4:43:48 PM
hell be ready for the final four

^^haha

We don't have many tough games in Nov/Dec--just two of the Old Spice Classic games (Penn State/Cocks, then probably K State or 'Nova), Michigan State, and maybe you could count Davidson, Cincinnatti, or Seton Hall. The experience he won't be getting during those two months is what's really going to hurt.

So we only have Degand for the first part of the season...I was hoping we would never have to see Grant at the point again.
9/23/2007 4:53:23 PM
he needs to man up and learn to play left handed[Edited on September 23, 2007 at 4:54 PM. Reason : f]
9/23/2007 4:53:57 PM
^^Yeah, he probably will have to play some backup minutes at the point. He's definitely more effective there than Fells. [Edited on September 23, 2007 at 4:54 PM. Reason : ]

And to answer the question posed by the thread topic: No, it never stops.

So we're backing to being 1 deep at PG again?[Edited on September 23, 2007 at 5:05 PM. Reason : ah, its just a thumb. he can at least stay in game shape]
9/23/2007 5:05:21 PM
Until the end of the semester, yep.
9/23/2007 5:06:11 PM
10-12 weeks is early to mid-December, not January or later.
9/23/2007 6:12:42 PM
its just a thumb. he'll still be able to practice everything except dribbling and shooting which i'm sure are his strong points. he'll be able to practice defense, play recognition and overall iq. Degand is in great shape i'm sure and playing 30+ minutes for 3 games won't be a problem. We'll win the rest of the games he's out for by so many points it won't matter.and again...do we even know if this guy is good? was he #1 out of degand and johnson?

hopefully it will be alot like the case last yearwe will suffer for awhile, luckily we have some backups there THANK GOD THIS YEAR!but hopefully the rest of the team gets stronger and when he returns they play even betterreminds me of the 83' year a little
9/23/2007 6:50:16 PM
^^ok give me your leg and i'll give you a thumb and see who wins one on one.
9/23/2007 7:04:10 PM
it says he'll be in a cast for 6 weeks, so he wont be able to do jack shit until thenand i doubt they'd let him do any kind of practicing until it fully heals
9/23/2007 7:24:22 PM
he can still run and keep in shape
9/24/2007 9:54:14 AM
At least it's not a knee.

I think Degand was our starter anyway... still this hurts a lot. These early games are where Lowe can test Javy out and see how he handles the offense. Now our backup is an unknown until league play... let's just pray to god that Degand can handle it.
