9/22/2007 1:59:58 AM
yes its the law
9/22/2007 2:01:10 AM
Definitely a law.If you don't marry a girl who's catholic they will feed you to the Jesus serpent, a wicked beast locked in a dungeon underneath the Sistine Chapel.
9/22/2007 2:02:20 AM
hey now.... thats not true. and i would know
9/22/2007 2:02:28 AM

9/22/2007 2:02:40 AM
as long as they arent protestant
9/22/2007 2:03:04 AM

back in the day my great grandmother was catholic, and she married my Lutheran great grandfather, she was excommunicated. I doubt they do that today though.
9/22/2007 8:28:35 AM
^ she speaks the truthI know, cause I was there
9/22/2007 10:08:12 AM
^^ Catholics and Lutherans signed some sort of pact so that would never happen now
9/22/2007 11:43:21 AM
9/22/2007 11:48:45 AM
of course it's not a sin
9/22/2007 11:55:52 AM
Before Vatican II (mid-late 60's I think) if a Catholic married a non-catholic they couldn't be married inside the church itself. My grandmother on my mom's side was Southern Baptist and didn't want to convert, so they had to have the wedding elsewhere, though the priest did perform the ceremony.Nowadays, it's no big deal. As long as they haven't been previously divorced. (My aunt married a man who had been divorced, and had to have a different minister perform the ceremony, because her church wouldn't do it)[Edited on September 22, 2007 at 12:06 PM. Reason : s]

11/18/2007 9:15:14 AM
i'd really like to go to a catholic church sometime...thats one of the denominations i've never been to before...my mom always told me growing up that i was a catholic though
11/18/2007 9:19:40 AM

11/18/2007 9:21:03 AM

11/18/2007 9:21:55 AM

my mom was methodist when she married my catholic dad....granted she converted, but she wasn't catholic when they were married
11/18/2007 12:04:48 PM
I'm catholic and will probably end up marrying a catholic girl. Having dated girls who were both catholic and not catholic, i suspect it would be easier spiritually to marry someone of the same faith. however, as said before interdenomination marriage is allowed, but when it comes to baptism problems may arise...
11/18/2007 3:42:30 PM
i'm american
11/18/2007 5:00:15 PM
a lot of catholics I've met are like:"I don't believe in god, and the bible is full of shit, but my family's catholic, so **sigh** I'm catholic too"crazy*note to atheists, agnostics, pagans, etc.simply saying "I'm catholic" is the best way to get door-to-door religion pushers to leave you alone
11/18/2007 5:18:38 PM
^ noted.
11/18/2007 5:19:56 PM
^^Ha. I served a proselyting mission and every time someone said "I'm Catholic" we took that to mean "I don't really go to church or have a religion" specifically for the reason you mentioned. If you want them to leave you alone the best thing to do is tell them I'm not interested. Worked for me and it beats lying. If you still want to get rid of them by lying just tell them you're a JW and act super pleased that they showed up at your door.
11/18/2007 5:49:22 PM
me and a chick from work had a good convo about religion todaylet me tell you its refreshing to know there are broads out there that really could care less about religion and dont buy into all that mess
