is it all that it's cracked up to be? everyone on Howardforums is absolutely raving about this phone, for menu speed, call quality, and reception. of course customizability (seem editing, etc.) is just about limitless...but would it be worth the $30 (w/2yr contract) or should I wait until the RAZR2 comes down in price? (AT&T btw)

^^ $300 = expensive as fuck? what planet are you living on?

I'd get an iPhone. The 4GB one is $300 while supplies last. But yeah, my wife has a RAZR and the call quality and signal range is unbelievable. Side by side, her RAZR always has at least 1-2 bars more than my PPC-6700 smartphone, and I've seen her phone connect when mine was "Searching for signal."Still, I'd wait on the RAZR2 -- the RAZR is old as balls at this point.[Edited on September 21, 2007 at 12:11 AM. HF is as fanboyish about moto RAZR's as TWW is fanboyish about the iPhone. and since when did people start calling $300 for a cell phone cheap!? last time i checked i wasn't living on the planet of debt i'm not bashing the apple, it's just too much for what i need (and can afford at this time)as soon as the RAZR2 drops to $100 or less i'll get on it

for a phone, $300 is expensivefor a mp3 player/phone/wifi/internet browser/video player, etc... i think it's on pari have a v3m and love it, the RAZR2 will be good, but only if you like the RAZR and it's not going to be MUCH better, just 2nd gen better.

enjoying it so far... the seem editing software (p2kcommander) is getting better and better each release.... plus it runs gmaps, gmail, operamini well and fast.i have pop client setup to gmail to notify me when a new message arrives, but I still use gmail app to read/reply to mail.pluses too are bluetooth and the fact that the charger port is a mini-B 5pin USB port. meaning you can buy the $1.30 usb cable from monoprice and use it as a data cable and as a charging cable (it charges off your usb power).[Edited on September 21, 2007 at 9:31 PM. ^ yes...for the most part...my gf's only likes certain cables, mostly the higher quality ones (seriously, i have two super cheap ones that it doesn't like at all)

Yea, pretty much any Mini-usb cable will work. im using one from a canon digital camera.I have the V3c. It has it's share of bugs, I've swapped mine out twice now (which, with Verizon is easy as hell) and seem editing is NOT an easy task. I did the whole seem edit / firmware flashing on my first phone. It, like all stupid hacking, took tons of time and I ended up not using any of the features I unlocked. That said, it's gotten the best reception of any phone I've ever had, generally amazing battery life, it's a great, durable, decent looking phone that fits comfortably in my pocket.

I agree with all the raves...the V3XX is the best phone I've ever owned. I was contemplating getting the iphone but it was $400 and the V3XX was free.Easy decision.
